Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, Tablet Z to get Android 4.4 next month

It was just a few month ago when Sony rolled out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to some of its early 2013 devices but it seems the manufacturer isn't done yet. Up on their respective support pages, Sony has scheduled the Xperia Z, Xperia XL, and Xperia ZR smartphones, as well as the Xperia Tablet Z for another software refresh in May.

Sony Xperia Z for T-Mobile getting Android 4.3 update

Sony Xperia Z owners on T-Mobile are getting an update today. The newest OTA brings a fresh version of Android, but sadly only updates it to 4.3 Jelly Bean. Sony is committed to supporting their devices, but this time it’s falling a touch short.

Sony Xperia Z pre-orders now live on T-Mobile

Last week T-Mobile announced they'll be the exclusive US carrier of Sony's impressive waterproof Xperia Z smartphone, and starting today it's finally available for pre-order. The device went up for sale for T-Mobile from select Sony stores only last week, but today T-Mobile has opened up pre-orders with overnight shipping starting tomorrow.

Sony Xperia Z T-Mobile Review

It's the same device as it was before - with an ever-so-slight change here or there in the software suite, of course. The Sony Xperia Z still has a fully waterproof body, a 5-inch Full HD display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. It's not the highest-power machine on the market - if you consider the Snapdragon 600 int he HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4, that is - but it does have a combination of processor and display panel that'll kick out the swiftness the likes of which you've never seen before (if you've not purchased a phone in 2013, of course). And it's all glass for class, too.
