Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman Phone with Android
Sony today has quietly, and without much of any press, or Walkman lovers of any sort knowing, have announced the Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman Phone. Oh and did I mention that it runs Android. Although it is sadly only Android 2.1 Eclair. I can see this phone being perfect for some people, but having last generation hardware, and software I just don't understand why, but for those Walkman lovers you can get it soon.

Android Gaming Platform design at Yanko
Over at Yanko, there's a cool design for an Android gaming platform that could go head to head with Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play. The concept, which is being touted as the Samsung HD3 Console, would employ a 3D galaxy interface with an HD AMOLED multi-touch screen, have Dolby mobile stereo speakers, two analog sticks and a built-in microphone for chat. It also looks to stream live TV via 4G or WiFi, 250GB of internal memory and sport an insane 8MP front camera and 12MP rear shutter. And of course, it would run Android, presumably Gingerbread or above.

Xperia Play CDMA phone hits the FCC
The Sony Xperia Play made a repeat performance at the FCC this weekend, as it's CDMA twin received Federal consideration. The inaugural Playstation certified handset, shows a SIM card slot that's different from Verizon's 4G LTE devices. This is leading some to speculate if this is a 3G only device, at least for testing purposes. We haven't seen any 4G association with the phone's advertizing with Verizon, and only rumors are circulating as to the Xperia Play launching later this month. But as we reported here, the Xperia Play is coming to 11 markets around the world, just not the US initially.

Sony-Ericsson’s Xperia Arc and Neo seen in action
Here's a video of the Sony Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo being taken through their thumb paces at a Press Conference in Copenhagen. Looking at the video, it's pretty clear just how snappy the interface is in both handsets. The phones are comfortable to hold thanks to their curved in design and the menus flip by at lightning pace. The video also shows a size comparison of both cameras along side the LG Optimus X2.
