LG’s own 1080p smartphone leaks in benchmark results
To be honest we can't say we're completely surprised by this leak, but now that the HTC DROID DNA has been announced everyone appears to be "leaking" details about 1080p HD smartphones. Earlier today we heard reports that Samsung has their own in the works, and now a benchmark result has leaked showing an LG F240 device rocking a 1920 x 1080p full HD display.

If you're at all excited about Flipboard making a long-overdue appearance on Android, odds are pretty good that you've already tried out the APK ripped from the Galaxy S III. But soon enough more Android users will be able to get in on the action. The developers have stated that they intend to release a beta version of the app for just a few devices, in order to test out different screen resolutions.

LG shows off world’s first 5-inch 1080p display
If you're like me and want to watch Monday Night Football in full 1080p at home, or from the Android phone in your pocket you'll love this news. Yesterday LG unveiled what they are calling the "world's first" 5-inch 1080p display for smartphones. If you thought the "Retina" display on the iPhone 4 was nice, or the 1280 x 720p screens on recent Android phones LG has an entire new level on the way.

Users want larger smartphone displays, says obvious analyst
Android users tend to like big, big displays on their phones. A previous study found that the median size for an Android handset was between 4.0 and 4.3 inches diagonally, and of course more and more devices are coming out with 5-inch and larger screens, a figure that was downright laughable just a few years ago. It looks like Android manufacturers ain't just whistlin' Dixie. According to a report from Strategy Analytics, 9 out of 10 people gravitate towards a phone with a bigger screen than their current one when buying a new model.

Gingerbread runs on 73% of Android devices, says reseacher
If you're reading this on your Android phone, odds are pretty good that it's running Gingerbread and has a screen four inches or larger with a resolution of 800x480. That's the conclusion reached by Localytics, a research firm taking a long hard look at data supplied by apps that use the company's proprietary analytic data. Localytics claims that a full 73% of Android devices (smartphone and tablets) run Gingerbread. That figure disagrees with the latest numbers from Google, now a month old, which claim that Gingerbread runs on just 55% of Android hardware.

AT&T’s 4:3 “wide-screen” Pantech Pocket gets a hands-on
If you've got an Android phone with a screen that's bigger than 3.2 inches diagonally, it's almost certain that the ratio of its vertical to horizontal pixels is about 16:9, mimicking a television screen's shape and distinguishing high-end phones from low-end competitors like the iPhone. Pantech is bucking the trend with a new phone for AT&T, the Pocket. This 4-inch Gingerbread phone has a first-in-class 800 x 600 screen, an odd 4:3 ratio in a widescreen Android world. PCMag was on-hand at CTIA to give us a look.

Nexus Prime’s extra screen space is for Android navigation buttons
A consistent part of the ever-changing Samsung Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus rumors is its eye-popping 4.65-inch, 1280 x 720 display. If you're the kind of Android user whose small digits quaver at a screen that size, fear not: a reddit user going by the name of "thantik" has drawn up a quick schematic illustrating the need for an extra .35-inches. The bonus space may be reserved for Android's navigation buttons, which will soon be migrating to the phone screen.
