Recently we told about the new 64GB Micro SDXC cards just released by SanDisk designed specifically for mobile devices. While most smartphones and tablets only offer SDHC support we are now happy to inform you all that many Android devices are in fact able to take full advantage of the 64GB SDXC cards by SanDisk, even though they aren’t listed as supported.

They might not be cheap coming in around $219 for now, the SanDisk Micro SDXC cards offer a huge storage limit of 64GB all in the size of a fingernail. After we ran the news of the new cards we quickly learned that many smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation 4G, ASUS Transformer tablet and more all work with 64GB MicroSDXC cards.

There are also reports that they are working on many older devices for those wondering. Some include the EVO 4G, original Galaxy S, and even the HTC Desire Z (aka T-Mobile G2). With both old and new, smartphones and tablets being able to take advantage of the 64GB SD cards this is a good sign many more will have the same fate. We can only assume manufacturers didn’t state SDXC support because none were out on the market at time of launch, or maybe there are other reasons yet unknown.

At first insert the device may say corrupt or error, just reformat your 64GB card inside the Android phone or tablet and you’re good to go. While many are currently working, this doesn’t mean they have full support. The chance of the cards failing, getting errors, and possibly losing all your stored data is still a possibility so use at your own risk for now. Hopefully we see more 64GB SDXC cards soon and at lower prices because $219 is a bit steep for me. — Thanks Murray!

In what I’m going to consider one of the better deals of the day 1SaleADay is offering the SanDisk 32GB Micro-SD card class 4 for the extremely low low price of just $29. These are brand new units right from SanDisk and have the same 1-year warranty, no refurbished junk here. I don’t know about …

In what I’m going to consider one of the better deals of the day 1SaleADay is offering the SanDisk 32GB Micro-SD card class 4 for the extremely low low price of just $29. These are brand new units right from SanDisk and have the same 1-year warranty, no refurbished junk here. I don’t know about you guys, and even with everything going to the cloud these days on mobile this is just too good of a deal to pass up.

I’ve never purchased anything from the site myself but I’ve had many friends us it in the recent past with good experiences. I myself went ahead and ordered two. One for my Honeycomb tablet and another for my HTC Sensation 4G I use daily. You can never have too much space, even if the cloud is taking over.

Just as the name suggests — 1SaleADay.com brings you an awesome deal on a daily bases. I know many phones come with 8GB SD cards or sadly sometimes even a 2GB MicroSD card so something like this is a great deal to snatch up. Not only are 64GB MicroSDXC cards just hitting the market but they are still $219 each. I’d much rather take two of these 32′s for now and call it a day.

Get em while their hot!

SanDisk has been busy stuffing as much storage as possible onto something as small as a fingernail and today they’ve announced the 64GB MicroSDXC (extended capacity) cards for mobile phones. I know many users myself included have been using plenty of cloud storage options lately but having a 64GB MicroSD would really be awesome and I can’t wait to get one in my hands. It will be known as the SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC “Mobile Ultra” card.

I don’t see any speed class rating on the card but most likely it will do just fine. I’ve found most SanDisk cards perform the same or better than many 3rd party options with a high rating anyways so I’ve always just stuck with SanDisk myself. Many current smartphones on the market only offer SDHC support (up to 32GB) and many phones probably wont work with these new SDXC cards yet but I’d sure love to try on all my phones I have lying around.

While SDXC was announced back in 2009 I’ve yet to see phones that official support the platform so we might have to wait for more details from manufacturers unless some of our current phones already support it. Most spec sheets list SDHC as that is what is readily available. SanDisk has mentioned the 64GB SDXC cards should be available starting next month for the low low price of just $219. A high price to pay indeed but I’m sure some users will jump at the opportunity. Kingmax announced the same capacity micro’s earlier this year but aren’t for sale so SanDisk will be the first to market as usual.

Would you pay $219 for a 64GB MicroSDXC card for your mobile phone, or would you rather just get by with a 32GB until prices become more reasonable?
