Samsung hires former Jony Ive design studio head

Samsung has turned a new coin, in a sense, to look for a new design for their upcoming smartphone collection. They'll be doing this by bringing in a man who happened to be former CEO of Tangerine, the London-based design company that at one time employed Apple’s design leader Jony Ive. Lee Don-tae, is now reporting to Samsung Electronics President Toon Boo-keun and will be engaging with the company’s Design Management Center.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has met expectations of fans of the OEM's Note series (well, most of them at least), it still suffers from the common ailment of smartphones and phablets like it: battery life leaves much to be desired. New leak gives more details about upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be unveiled in March during the MWC in Madrid, but that hasn't stopped people from trying to find out as much as they can about the upcoming new flagship from the Korean OEM. A Dutch site says that a user agent profile on the Samsung website has more or less confirmed what we know so far about the smartphone, while adding a few more tidbits to whet our appetite.

Samsung reportedly buying BlackBerry

Samsung is reportedly buying Blackberry. According to sources familiar with the matter who opted remain anonymous, Samsung would be looking to gain access to Blackberry’s patent portfolio. If the deal were to go down, the company would be bought for as much as $7.5 billion. It’ll cost $13.35 to $15.49 per share, or 38-60% over what Blackberry currently trades at.

Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors: reduced TouchWiz, production by February

The MWC in Barcelona is still a few months away, but rumors are already swirling about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6. The latest whisperings are saying that the soon-to-be-flagship will have a "toned down" interface of the memory hog proprietorial TouchWiz. Meanwhile, some say that as early as February, the Korean OEM will start mass production on their newest smartphone.

During the recently concluded CES 2015, they announced the arrival of the Penvatars or your more fun alternative to that plain circle that automatically appears when you put the stylus near your smartphone's screen.
