Samsung opens new factory to keep up with Galaxy S6 edge demand

A few weeks ago we learned that Samsung can't keep up with demand for Galaxy S6 and now even the dual-edged Galaxy S6 edge supplies are running out fast. Pre-orders for S6 edge reached 5 million when the latest flagship phones were launched last March. We don't have the exact numbers right now but it seems there are more demands for the S6 edge and Samsung needs to act fast to deliver units not only in South Korea but the rest of the world.

Samsung SDK for the possibly round next-gen Gear ready for devs

The latest Android Wear platform is almost ready to roll out on some of the newest smartwatch models in the market today and Samsung would like to join in the fun by sending out invites to some developers to try out the Software Development Kit (SDK) of the next generation Galaxy Gear--which could be round this time based on the images on the invitation. There's no mention though if this is official for Android Wear or for Samsung's very own Tizen. And oh, this is the first SDK for the Galaxy Gear line.

Samsung launches Gear VR Innovator Edition for Galaxy S6, S6 edge

The Samsung Gear VR maybe one first virtual reality gaming systems available in the market today but it certainly has a lot of rooms for improvement. The VR device only became available on Best Buy last March and Samsung has been trying to market the product by letting us see how virtual reality can help connect people even those that are miles away. It still is in its early stages but the tech giant has bigger plans for it which includes a consumer-ready Note 5 Gear VR version someday.

Lollipop finally arrives for Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 finally have something to cheer about. The OEM announced that the tablet will finally receive the Android 5.0 upgrade, a month after the bigger version, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 got its Lollipop on. However, the update that will be rolling out to the tablet is version 5.0.2, and not yet the latest one, version 5.1 which has been rolling out to some devices already.

No WiFi support for some smartwatches from LG, Asus

Apparently, not all Android Wear smartwatches are created equal. While those who own the Moto 360 and the Sony Smartwatch 3 are rejoicing that they will have WiFi support from the latest update from the wearable platform, some smartwatches like the LG G Watch, G Watch R, and the Asus Zenwatch will not be getting this additional connectivity from Android. There is still no word from Samsung on whether their devices have WiFi antennas.

Qualcomm to build its next-gen chips on Samsung foundries
