AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD gets canned

We're big fans of the Galaxy S II Skyrocket here at Android Community, and have been ever since it launched on AT&T's LTE network back in November. It even accompanied us to CES as a backup to our personal phones - I can think of no greater compliment. But the successor to the Skyrocket, the even bigger and sharper Skyrocket HD, seems to have been given its walking papers even before release.

Samsung details its ICS upgrade plans in the US

We've heard from various carriers and manufacturers on their plans to upgrade existing phones to Android 4.0, but despite the fact that updates for the Galaxy S II have been available for multiple markets (including the US) Samsung has remained curiously quiet. Until today: the company finally posted a comprehensive list of devices that will see Ice Cream Sandwich. Less than a day after AT&T's flavor of the Samsung Glaaxy S II got its first leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, the folks at the CyanogenMod team are hard at work incorporating the much-needed software into their modded Android 4.0 builds. AT&T Galaxy S II owners can download nightly builds of CyanogenMod 9 starting now, getting the latest and greatest in customized Android 4.0 straight from the source. Head over to the CyanogenMod Mirror Network to download the latest build; install by flashing in a custom recovery, as usual.

AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Ice Cream Sandwich update leaks

When AT&T started sending out the Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Vivid, we got more than a few readers asking where was the update for its LTE launch partner, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. The Skyrocket was released back in November with the Vivid, and AT&T has included it on its list of ICS updates. Just like HTC's LTE phone, a leaked version of the Skyrocket's Android 4.0 build has found its way onto the Internet early. You can download and apply it over at RootzWiki.
