Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Samsung Galaxy Tab wireless TV streaming [Hands on]

Samsung has a new feature for their Galaxy Tabs coming out which will add wireless TV streaming. Chris Davies over at Slashgear got a look at it during IFA 2011. Originally announced back in February, the new feature enables users of the Samsung D7000 or D8000 HDTVs to stream wirelessly to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 out of the box. It's very similar to Samsung's AllShare DNLA client, but it works the other way, with the HDTV transcoding the signal and sending it wirelessly to the Galaxy Tab.

Samsung’s fake Galaxy Tab interviews scratch heads

The video interviews that Samsung showed during their unveiling of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 are leaving bloggers scratching their heads. It seems that the interviews, which depict a real estate CEO, are faked. Harry McCracken thought something was up when he noticed that the interviews show a CEO named Joseph Kolinski raving about his 8.9" Galaxy Tab. How could he have one when Samsung itself only had non working models at CTIA? But the mystery deepens.

Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 Hands-On

Before we begin, I must mention that the model we got our hands on here at CTIA 2011 was a pre-production model, and changes are definitely in the works before this device and the other Samsung devices we got to peek at would be ready for the market. The model we're talking about here is the smaller of the two tablets being offered up here as a completely epic addition to the tablet world, not just on the Android side of things, but on the world market. This tablet is going into direct competition with not only the Motorola XOOM, not only will it blast the GALAXY Tab original out of the water, but it'll stand up to the iPad and throw down.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Pictured in Sneaky Display Photos

What you're seeing below is a couple of shots of presentation panels that very obviously shouldn't have been photographed yet. This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, a device that appears very much to be running Honeycomb with Samsung's own UX on top, a "personalized homescreen", stocked full of stuff you'll more than likely want to turn off: buddies now, agenda, email, weather, news, stock, gallery, date, and bookmark. Maybe emails you'll keep. Either way, the device, the device! Look at this sassy mother.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and other Honeycomb tablets leak on Staples roadmap

What appears to be an updated version of the leaked tablet roadmap document spotted earlier in the week has emerged, this time attributed to retailer Staples. Though no longer showing pricing information, the document passed to DroidLife adds in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 expected to launch at CTIA 2011 later this month. There's also a lot less detail in the release dates this time around. That could well be a response to the iPad 2; several manufacturers are believed to have tweaked their launch schedules as a result of the second-generation Apple tablet. Still, the 10-inch HTC Honeycomb slate and models from Dell, Acer and Toshiba are all present. They were originally pegged for a June 2011 launch, though that may well have changed. [via Engadget]

Samsung may unveil 8.9″ Galaxy Tab later in March

Samsung may be unveiling their new 8.9" Galaxy Tab at a press event on March 22, in Orlando, Florida. The news comes from an image on Samsung's facebook page with a cryptic reference to the numbers "78910", which many believe points to an 8.9" tablet since the original Galaxy Tab is 7" and Samsung unveiled a 10.1" tablet at CES. So an 8.9 inch tablet would fit right in the middle and make for a good mid-range size. But is there really a need for something in between the two existing sizes?
