Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 may get fatter and dimmer screen in some areas

I mentioned that new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 commercial just a bit ago. We haven't heard anything about the slightly smaller Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet in a while now that was announced along with the 10.1 a few months back. Apparently, there is a reason why we haven't heard anything else about the 8.9 tablet and that reason is issues with the smaller LCD that the tablet uses. Shortages of screens have long plagued the industry and kept popular devices off the market in numbers to meet the demands of the consumers.

Galaxy Tab 8.9 Hits the FCC, Coming Soon!

I know you all are just like me and are excited and anxiously awaiting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to hit store shelves. Its super thin and will most likely be a big seller. I think 8.9" is the perfect size and feels just right in the hand. Recently we mentioned the Tab 10.1 would be hitting stores in the next few days, and now we are seeing the Tab 8.9 hit the FCC. Things are looking better and better and hopefully I can get my hands on this device soon. Check out our Galaxy Tab 10.1 hands-on while you are here.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 hits European pre-order

The 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has gone up for pre-order in Germany, confirming a European price tag of €606.50 ($853). Amazon is currently listing the 16GB version of the slate, which uses NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor along with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. As the direct price conversion above suggests, Europe is looking at paying a whole lot more for the 8.9-inch Tab than its US counterparts. Samsung has previously confirmed that the 16GB version will be $469 in the US. Full specifications are not given, so it's unclear if this is the WiFi-only version or the promised Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G with integrated WWAN. That might explain a little of the extra mark-up, though it still seems that Europeans are getting a bum deal. [via NetbookNews]

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 gets another Hands-On [video]

Today we have another hands-on for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 that we can't wait to see more of. We posted a short video back earlier this month of the 8.9 you can see that here. This next video below is not in English, so it is just for your viewing pleasure but any android fan should understand it, and probably wish they could show these "hands-on" guys how the multi-tasking system works on 3.0 Honeycomb, as they seem confused.

Samsung Announces May 24th Press Event in NYC

What could this one be? With two big events so close together, you've just got to assume it's going to be a set of amazing phones jamming down the tube. What other event, you ask? Just yesterday we were told about a May 5th event (which we'll also be at,) one that we're banking will be the reveal point of the Samsung Infuse 4G, while this next one on the 24th is bound and determined to be the USA date for everyone's favorite best-selling Android phone line. Can you guess what we're guessing?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Hands-On in Germany

It appears that our Android pals in Deutschland have gotten their hands on the yet to be release Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, one of two new tablets announced back at CTIA 2011 (we where there!) but without working units (we got to see the dummies!) We also got to see a working version of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb with TouchWiz overlay on a different test-unit tablet that same faithful day - what NewGadgetsDE has for the world now is no less than those two elements combined - and in a white-backed unit!
