Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 with 4G LTE coming November 20th to AT&T, Free phone included

AT&T is finally getting the entire 4G LTE market and devices train rolling. With the HTC Jetstream and the recently released Skyrocket and Vivid things are looking quite nice about now. Today, AT&T and Samsung have just announced the Galaxy Tab 8.9 with AT&T 4G LTE will be available starting November 20th. We recently spotted the Tab 8.9 clear the FCC with AT&T 4G LTE so we knew it was coming, and now it will be available in just a few days.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 drops by the FCC with AT&T LTE bands

It looks like the uber-expensive HTC Jetstream won't have long to sit on its throne as AT&T's only LTE tablet device. Either the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or 8.9 was recently spotted roaming the digital halls of the FCC, with AT&T's unmistakable 4G LTE branding adorning its backside. The spec drawing looks pretty interchangeable with the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but after overlaying the press shots of the 8.9 on the PDF, I'm leaning towards the 8.9.

Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Players coming in October

Samsung has just announced full pricing and retail availability for three new Android devices today. Those being the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 as well as the Galaxy Player 5.0 and 4.0 media devices. We've seen plenty of these over the past few weeks as well as full Tab 8.9 pre-order information. Today we have full details and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be available starting October 2nd.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi gets official US listing/price

Samsung US has officially priced the Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi tablet, with the 8.9-inch Honeycomb slate being available from $469 and said to be "coming soon." Both 16GB and 32GB versions of the tablet are listed, priced at $469 and $569 respectively. Specifications are just as we've seen before, which means Android 3.1 Honeycomb running on NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor with Samsung's own TouchWiz modifications. There's a 2-megapixel camera on the front and a 3-megapixel camera on the back, but unlike the 3G versions only WiFi to get you online. That all matches up with Best Buy's listings from last week, with the retailer suggesting that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 would arrive sometime later this month. An LTE version is also expected for some regions, tipped to launch later in 2011, though exact availability is unconfirmed. [device id=1676] [Thanks Paul!]

IFA 2011 Wrap-Up

As you may already know, we were live and in action this year in Berlin at IFA 2011, and without a doubt it was a year for tablets on the Android front. Samsung, Toshiba, and ViewSonic brought the heat while Lenovo brings on the candy-coated goodness. Then there's what many have considered the superstar of the whole show: the Samsung Galaxy Note; not a smartphone yet not quite a tablet - kind of like the Britney Spears of Android mobile devices, if you will. Take a dunk with us as we get hands-on looks at everything under the sun.

To start off September, we have a massive amount of tech news to present in this issue of Android Community Weekly! Sunday, the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE were officially announced. Later on, we ran across a recently initiated build of CyanogenMod 7 for none other than the HP TouchPad. It's been a crazy week of tech news, and we'll try to cover the most important bits in this issue of Android Community Weekly! We should definitely see some more on this long awaited superphone soon, so just stay tuned.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Gets some Hands-on Treatment [Video]

While the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 price and any sort of release date is still unknown we are able to watch the perfect sized tablet on video today. In a huge market of 10" Android Honeycomb tablets and lightweight e-readers the 8.9" Tab sounds like the perfect solution and something I have been waiting to see and handle for a while. I plan to get one of these bad boys in to review so make sure and check back when the time comes.
