Ice Cream Sandwich update hits Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G

Some of us are always on the lookout for news of Jelly Bean updates, but of course, there are a ton of devices out there that aren't even on Ice Cream Sandwich yet. There are many Android users who are patiently awaiting the arrival of an Ice Cream Sandwich update that may never arrive. It's almost tragic in a way, but luckily, we're finding out today that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G (GT-P7300) won't be one of the devices stuck in the past.

Samsung posts ICS updates for tons of Canadian devices

Listen up, hosers: If you're in the great white north and clutching a Samsung Android device, this message is for you. Today Samsung announced Ice Cream Sandwich updates for pretty much all of its high-end Galaxy devices across all Canadian networks, including smartphones and tablets. The press release says that the updates will vary in availability by region and carrier, but if you've got a Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab, it would be prudent to check for a software update right now.

Samsung details its ICS upgrade plans in the US

We've heard from various carriers and manufacturers on their plans to upgrade existing phones to Android 4.0, but despite the fact that updates for the Galaxy S II have been available for multiple markets (including the US) Samsung has remained curiously quiet. Until today: the company finally posted a comprehensive list of devices that will see Ice Cream Sandwich. All four major US carriers and WiFi tablets have been detailed - with one important exception.

The past few days I've been lucky enough to be enjoying the latest and greatest from the Galaxy Tab series, the mid-sized Galaxy Tab 8.9 with AT&T 4G LTE. This slate is the latest edition in Samsung's attempts to cover almost every size imaginable and now all that seems left is that Tab 7.7 we saw at IFA and possible some sort of 8.2" like the upcoming Xoom 2.
