Galaxy S5 ad mocks Apple’s rumoured bigger iPhone screen

In continuing with its tradition of pulling no punches when mocking its competition, Samsung’s newly-released ad for their Galaxy S5 has once again chosen rival Apple to receive its barbs. The ad entitled “Screen Envy” pokes fun at the rumoured bigger screen of the upcoming new iPhone, and saying that Samsung users have had their bigger screen devices for the past two years.

Galaxy S5’s Ultra Power Saving put to test in road trip

Since Samsung has been harping about the Ultra Power Saving mode of its Galaxy S5 for some time now, even going so far as to mock its rivals with a clever ad, they decided to prove its worth with a coast to coast road trip test. The trip was compressed into a 2.5 minute video that shows the smartphone managed to last 7 days on the road without needing to recharge it.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha (Galaxy F) rumored to launch in August

Some South Korean tech media outfits have now been pushing stories of Samsung launching what they call the Samsung Galaxy Alpha some time in August, one month ahead of the anticipated launch of Apple’s iPhone 6 in September, with which the Alpha is rumored to lock horns with. The Galaxy Alpha, with its rumored metal finish, sounds a lot like the Galaxy F which had been making the rounds in tech blogs a few weeks back.

The latest leaked pictures of the supposed unit seemingly confirms the rumours that it will indeed have a metal frame and super thin bezels.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini officially unveiled

Putting an end to another series of leaks and rumors, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S5 Mini. This is the third in the line of mini devices from Samsung, and similar to what we've seen in the past -- the Galaxy S5 Mini is a smaller version of the Galaxy S5 with a bit of a step down in terms of some of the specs.

Phone manufacturers often poke fun at the competition. We've seen plenty from all the big players, however it looks like HTC has become the latest to jump in with an attack. HTC has taken to Twitter in an effort to push the One (M8) above the Galaxy S5. But the catch is -- HTC didn't actually mention the Samsung device by name.
