Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A now ready for download

Rumors and leaked previews will soon be overshadowed as the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A has rolled out. We've lost count of how many Android devices are getting the sweet Lollipop update but Galaxy S4 users, specifically of the LTE-A variant, will be happy to know that the software update is ready. It was only last week that the Samsung Galaxy S4 got a taste of Lollipop in Russia. This isn't exactly unexpected because we've seen the Lollipop firmware for the unit leaked and the Google Play Edition received Android Lollipop back in December. Samsung officially revealed the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 and Note 2 at the same time.

Russian Samsung Galaxy S4 getting a taste of Lollipop

We know the Samsung Galaxy S4 is getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update but we don't know when the Russians would be able to get their hands on the sweet version. A Galaxy S4 with Lollipop build was leaked a few months ago after a related rumor came out. Of course, the Android 5.0 update was officially released for the Galaxy S4 but only made available in a few countries. Even the Google Play Edition of the smartphone got a quick update.

Official-looking Lollipop firmware for Samsung Galaxy S4 leaked

We all know that for all of Samsung’s tech nous, the South Korean company can’t very well launch the most recent Lollipop firmware versions for all their top-of-the-line devices at the same time. This would be confusing as heck for them and so we understand (grudgingly) the delay. However, leaks like this – an official-ish Android 5.0.1 version of the firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S4 – keep us excited about the official release.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition finally gets Android Lollipop

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is finally getting the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop. This means the smartphone will be a lot sweeter as the software update has started to roll out. Last year's flagship phone from the South Korean giant was the first GPE device but is now among the last ones to get a taste of the sweet Lollipop. This brings new platform features to the bestselling Galaxy S4 but it will only be the Android 5.0.0 and not the 5.0.1 update recently released. The preview we saw earlier this month was true after all.
