AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Active Review

Samsung originally announced the Galaxy S4 Active in early June. Since that point we have seen the handset shown off during the Samsung Premiere event which took place a few days earlier. We managed to spend a few minutes of hands-on time with the handset during that event, however that was just the start of our experience with the Active. We received an AT&T branded Galaxy S4 a short while back and as such we have been able to spend a bit more time playing around -- and yes, that includes testing the device in water.

Samsung previously announced the the Galaxy S4 Active, however that didn't stop them from showing the handset during the Premiere 2013 event which took place a bit earlier today. As a result of the Galaxy S4 Active being on display, we got to spend a bit of time checking it out in person. The Active is the dust and waterproof version of the Galaxy S4 and that was one of the highlights of the event.

Samsung's Galaxy S4 Active, the ruggedized version of the Galaxy S 4, has been officially revealed, capable of surviving underwater as well as in dusty, bumpy conditions. Based largely on the S 4's specifications, though with a few notable changes, the Galaxy S4 Active has a 5-inch Full HD display though uses TFT LCD rather than AMOLED, while the rear camera steps down to 8-megapixels from 13-megapixels.
