Black Galaxy S III confirmed, hits the UK in September

Last week Samsung teased the world with the possibility of offering their flagship Galaxy S III smartphone in a new color option, black, but now its been confirmed. After being spotted on their Facebook page during Samsung's Olympic coverage many were curious, and now a UK retailer has confirmed the device will be available in 4-6 weeks.

This week the folks at Samsung have caused a little disturbance for those who don't like the current color options for the Galaxy S III smartphone. For some unknown reason Samsung decided against the traditional black color, and only have a Marble White, Pebble Blue, and Garnet Red flavor. However Samsung's Facebook showed off a black model, and now retails could be confirming the news.

Samsung Jelly Bean update plans for Galaxy line leaked

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean now officially on the scene, many smartphone owners are wondering when (or if) they'll be getting an update. We may have a better idea of when Samsung is planning to update some of its Galaxy-branded smartphones to Jelly Bean thanks to an apparent leak from SamMobile. The good news is that if this is all true, some Samsung owners won't have much longer to wait before Jelly Bean arrives on their device. AT&T Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S III hands-on

Today we have a special treat to share with everyone, and that is the rare Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S III being offered over on AT&T. You'd think this color would arrive for Verizon, but AT&T stole the exclusivity and it has been up for pre-order all month. Available come Sunday for the lucky few, but we have it now for you to take a quick look. The color is the only difference, but so far I'm really liking it.

Local Search, as many of you may have already discovered, has come up missing from Galaxy S III devices. It isn't hard to imagine why, considering that many draw comparisons between Local Search and Siri and Samsung has already been through enough legal tussles with Apple to last a lifetime. Sadly, it seems like Local Search isn't coming back anytime soon, but there is a way to fix it, provided you aren't against rooting your S III and doing a little work under the hood.
