T-Mobile Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update now available
Samsung began rolling out Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S II back in February. The good news as of today, that update is now available for those with T-Mobile. The carrier has detailed the update process and two things stand out as needing to be known -- the update is large and it is not available over-the-air.

We've been getting mixed signals and reports regarding Samsung's still extremely popular yet aging Galaxy S II smartphone. While they've been quick with updates to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and beyond, the Galaxy S II is still waiting to enjoy 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google Now, and everything else we love about the latest version of Android. However it looks like the rollout is back on track for Samsung.

T-Mobile Galaxy S II getting update – not quite Jelly Bean
The flavor of the popular Samsung Galaxy S II that graces the T-Mobile network is receiving a quick software update today. Details have confirmed T-Mobile is pushing an update out over-the-air as we speak for the handset, although it's still running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Earlier this month we received some bad news that Samsung's update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for their extremely popular Galaxy S II had been delayed until February. Don't worry though, because today we have some excellent news that the update has actually started rolling out as we speak.

It looks like official updates for Samsung's highly popular Galaxy S II to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean have been delayed. We can't technically call it delayed since it wasn't announced, but previous reports had them coming before the end of the year and then delayed into early 2013. Back in December we mentioned they'd arrive in early 2013, and now reports have surfaced claiming the updates will start in February.

We've been talking a lot about Jelly Bean updates for the Samsung Galaxy S III lately, and all the while, the large number of Galaxy S II owners have been waiting patiently for news of their update. We've got some news to share with you today courtesy of the folks over at SamMobile, but unfortunately it isn't good. It would appear that the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S II won't arrive until sometime in 2013, so owners still have a bit of wait ahead of them.

Galaxy S II owners looking go get some Jelly Bean action on their phone are in for some good news. Android 4.1.2 has leaked for the device in test form, thanks to XDA-Developers. Of course, this means it's not a final build, and with that, there could be some small bugs and issues that pop up every now and then, so be prepared for that if you choose to flash this new firmware on your device.

Leaked T-Mobile release roadmap gives away LG Optimus L9 launch date
It's been a revealing day for T-Mobile, at least if the latest leak from TmoNews is to be believed. A new roadmap is giving us possible release dates for a bunch of devices, including the LG Optimus L9. According to the roadmap, the Optimus L9 should be hitting T-Mobile's shelves on October 31, so if you're a T-Mobile customer who has been waiting to get their hands on an L9, you might not have much longer to wait before it becomes available.

Today, T-Mobile announced that it was rolling out an Isis/NFC update to the Samsung Galaxy S II. Most of us already know that NFC is used for commerce, and while T-Mobile thinks that's great, it has outlined its plan for NFC now that its showing up on its phones. To hear T-Mobile explain it, the roll out of NFC is more than just a joint venture with Isis to challenge Google Wallet.

There hasn't been much talk about Isis lately. The Google Wallet competitor made up of many partners including T-Mobile, Verizon, and other carriers that want to do things their own way. Today T-Mobile and Samsung have issued an update for their Galaxy S II smartphone that makes the device the first Isis-ready smartphone.
