Samsung GALAXY S 4

Samsung Galaxy S 4 software update detailed by Verizon

Details of an update for the Verizon Galaxy S 4 surfaced earlier in the week, though at the time the update was only available for those willing to grab it using a Mac or Windows computer. Basically, it wasn't available over-the-air. Not to mention, there wasn't any changelog available and given those two points -- we suspect more than a few users waited to update. That said, that changelog has since been posted and we have the detail sitting below.

Galaxy S4 sales causing a ‘crisis’ at Samsung according to employee

Samsung's Galaxy S III smartphone was one of the most popular and highest selling smartphones last year. This year it was followed up with the bigger, better, faster Galaxy S4. Estimated to reach nearly 100 million in sales, and set to be a huge success. After already reaching 20 million shipped (not sold) some analysts are predicting a slowdown, and now one employee is reporting an internal crisis at Samsung.

MetroPCS GALAXY S 4 availability begins today

MetroPCS offered the teaser last week and as of today it looks like the official confirmation has arrived. The carrier has announced the Samsung GALAXY S 4 and the handset will be available as of today. Those considering the purchase will need to be prepared to shell out $549, but otherwise, the GALAXY S 4 will be available contract-free and with the MetroPCS plans that begin at $40 per month.

MetroPCS GALAXY S 4 set to arrive next week

An FCC filing surfaced back in late-March that detailed a MetroPCS compatible Samsung GALAXY S 4. That filing had shown the handset as being the SCH-R970 and with support for LTE. The key with that, MetroPCS had been quite and hadn't said anything in terms of when the handset could be expected to arrive in the available device lineup. Well, flash forward till today and it looks like they have since come forward.

TrulyClean script removes GALAXY S 4 bloatware

The topic of bloatware is a discussion that is likely not going anywhere anytime soon. We see manufacturers and carriers loading extra apps all the time and that is a practice that will likely continue moving forward. While some apps can be removed or disabled on an individual basis, that doesn't help when you have lots of apps you want removed.

Samsung GALAXY S 4 shipments top 20 million

Samsung originally launched the GALAXY S 4 on April 27 and since then we have seen both good and bad reports in terms of shipments and sales for the handset. The reports on the bad side seem to have been coming from analysts and on the flip side, the positive reports seem to have been coming from Samsung.
