Galaxy S 4, S III, Note II Android 4.3 schedule confirmed by French carrier

As we keep on the lookout for the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat reveal next month, we're still keeping an eye on Android 4.3, which seems to be slowly but surely rolling out to devices. Now we're receiving confirmation that next in line to get the updates will not only be Samsung's current Galaxy S 4 flagship but even last year's Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II models as well.

Samsung has gone gold. Well, specifically, they have gone gold with the Galaxy S 4. Coming by way of the Samsung Mobile Arabia Twitter account, we are seeing the announcement for the new Galaxy S 4 Gold Edition. The announcement comes along with a bit about how "elegance is a touch of Gold" and about how this handset will bring a "style that's uniquely yours."

LifeProof nuud and fre waterproof cases unveiled for the Galaxy S 4

If you happen to be a Galaxy S 4 user that wishes they had a Galaxy S4 Active instead, there will soon be a few new case options that will bring the same protection against water. The cases are from LifeProof and will include the nuud and fre models. These both offer protection against water, however one leaves the display open and the other has it protected by a scratch resistant cover.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition getting JWR66Y security update

The Google Play edition HTC One began receiving the JWR66Y security update earlier in the week. As of today that same JWR66Y security update has begun rolling out for the other Google Play edition handset -- the Galaxy S 4. While this update is small and focusing on security, this all builds upon the earlier Android 4.3 release which began rolling out for both handsets in the beginning of August.
