Samsung has had a place in the mid-size tablet market for a while now, and their newest piece of machinery takes things to a new level. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is the happy medium between the company’s Galaxy Note 10.1 and the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II, and we first took a look at the new device during Mobile World Congress back in February. It comes with the infamous S Pen, as well as a quad-core processor to keep things humming along nicely. However, the tablet starts at $400, which is a bit expensive compared to other tablets in the same playing field, which makes us wonder what’s so special about this specific slate. Earlier this week the folks from Samsung finally announced their latest tablet to grace the Note lineup, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 WiFi, will be hitting US shelves come April 11th for $399. Tomorrow you'll be able to head to your nearest retail store and take one home, so naturally we have one already to share with you guys. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 spotted at Office Depot for $399

While we're still waiting for the folks from Samsung to officially announce their new Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet for the US, it recently was spotted at Office Depot for the somewhat high price of $399. After launching in the UK earlier this month a US release in imminent, but for now all we have are a few leaks suggesting an April release date.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 UK availability begins today

Samsung has announced the immediate availability of the Galaxy Note 8.0 for those in the UK. The one catch with that though, for now the tablet will only be available at one retail location. That spot is the Samsung Experience Store which is located in Westfield Stratford City. Samsung has yet to offer a release date otherwise, however they have said availability in other channels will follow.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 3G makes the required FCC appearance

We saw the Galaxy Note 8.0 make an appearance with the FCC back in late-January. At that time the tablet was shown under the model number of GT-5110 and it was a 16GB model with Wi-Fi connectivity. Basically, we were looking at the Wi-Fi only Galaxy Note 8.0 at that time. And well, as of today it looks like the FCC filing for the cellular connected model has been discovered.
