AT&T Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear now available

T-Mobile launched the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch earlier in the week and as of today, AT&T has done the same. The oversized smartphone and companion smartwatch have arrived with AT&T this morning and as we had been expecting, we are seeing the Galaxy Note 3 available for $299.99 and the Galaxy Gear available for $299. The difference in the pricing though, the Note 3 $299.99 price point involves a two-year agreement.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review

Many thought Samsung was a bit crazy when they introduced the original Galaxy Note, however they sold in decent numbers and that original was followed-up with the improved Galaxy Note II. Well, we once again have a new generation device in the Note lineup and this time around it has landed as the Galaxy Note 3 and with improvements in terms of the software and hardware. Touching on one item in particular, the loved-by-some and hated-by-others S Pen has stuck around with some notable improvements. With that being said, read on to see what we thought of the Galaxy Note 3 and the companion, Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

Samsung Galaxy Gear review roundup

Samsung announced the Galaxy Gear smartwatch at an event in early September. That announcement also included the Galaxy Note 3 and 2014 Edition Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, however the focus of the moment is the smartwatch. The Galaxy Gear had been available for pre-order with several of the US carriers, however given the $299 price point, we suspect some may have decided to hold back until they were able to read some reviews. So with that in mind, we are taking a look at the reviews that have surfaced around the web, beginning with the one recently posted from our sister site SlashGear.

Samsung Galaxy Gear said to be lacking something special

The Galaxy Gear has yet to arrive in the hands of the public and if this one unnamed Samsung executive continues talking, potential buyers may begin looking elsewhere for their smartwatch needs. The details are coming by way of the Korea Times where that executive admitted that the Galaxy Gear currently "lacks something special." This of course, comes despite other executives talking about how the watch has been "receiving warm response."
