Samsung Fascinate users are complaining of errors after receiving the OTA update of OS 2.2 Froyo. The error message that users are receiving is "UPDATE FAILED or INCOMPLETE. reason: IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED" and appears to be affecting users with a Fascinate that is either rooted, has a previous update that failed to complete, or has a corrupted system directory. Users have tried everything from a hard reset to removing the battery with no help in clearing the error. But thanks to a smart Fascinate user, there's a workaround.

Samsung Fascinate to Receive Froyo Tomorrow [Verizon Confirms]

We've just received a note from Verizon letting us and the world know that Android 2.2 Froyo will be pushing to the Samsung Fascinate tomorrow, April 21st, 2011. This update brings the phone up to nearly the newest mobile operating system, trumped, of course, only by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the tablet-based version of the OS, 3.0 Honeycomb. We would expect that the update will start shooting out over the air tomorrow in certain areas of the country, but if you just can't wait, there's always a manual download.

Cool Verizon spot races onto TVs

If you're an Indy racing fan, Verizon has a cool new service that will help you keep up on your favorite racing team ... Team Verizon! The spot is for the Indy Car Mobile app, which follows the IZOD Indy Car Series. With the app, users can listen to in car audio, keep track of races with leader boards, highlights, and even special tweets from the drivers (I hope while not racing!). Upcoming features to include live in-car camera for Verizon sponsored drivers, press conference streaming and Indy Car Nation exclusive content. According to the YouTube page, the app currently follows Indy racers Will Power, Helio Castroneves & Ryan Briscoe.

So you updated your phone a couple of days ago on your Samsung Fascinate, the update pushed out by Verizon, right? Have you tried to mount your SD card as a mass storage device to your desktop?
