Verizon Galaxy Note II price drops by $100

We have been seeing more and more talk of the Galaxy Note 3 lately, however it looks like Verizon has just given a reason to pay attention to the currently available Galaxy Note II. That reason, or more specifically, the 100 reasons have arrived in the form of a price cut. Simply put, Verizon Wireless has slashed the price of the Galaxy Note II and the handset is now sitting at $199.99.

Verizon Wireless has detailed the latest Galaxy Note II software update. This update will bring the device up to Android 4.1.2, which brings with it "several" security related patches. The changelog is on the long side and details several device enhancements as well as application improvements and even the removal of a previously pre-installed app.

Samsung Galaxy Note II tops iPhone 5 in US smartphone survey

Coming by way of a recent OnDevice Research survey, it looks like the Galaxy Note II has bested the iPhone 5 in terms of user satisfaction. And while it is interesting to see the phone that may complain about being big and clunky top the iPhone, we should point out that the fact that it was a close victory. If that wasn't enough for Android fans though, the Galaxy Note II was in fourth with the iPhone 5 in fifth, which really just goes to show that there are still three other devices to discuss.
