Happy Birthday Google Play Store! Get out the candles and cake, the Google Play Store has just turned 1 years old. Well maybe tomorrow it will at least. As a reminder, the Android Market has been around forever but it has been 1 year since they replaced it with what we know and love today as the Play Store. In celebration Google has plenty of deals and gifts for us, and they'll be available and changing all week.

Verizon sells more 700 Mhz spectrum to Clear Talk
Verizon has been pretty busy lately working on their 4G LTE spectrum. They've been doing a little of both, selling and buying up available spectrum as long as the FCC approves of the deal. Today Verizon has confirmed they've sold more 700 MHz 4G spectrum to Clear Talk and will be awaiting approval by the FCC.

T-Mobile to lower prices of several Android devices for holiday season
T-Mobile is prepping for the upcoming holiday season by dropping prices of many of its most popular devices, at least according to a report from BriefMobile. The report comes from an internal memo sent to T-Mobile employees. Popular devices such as the HTC One S, Samsung Galaxy Note II, and Samsung Galaxy S III will see price drops very soon for T-Mobile customers eligible for an upgrade or those opening a new account.

With the folks from Barnes & Noble recently launching their new NOOK HD and HD+ tablets at a competitive price point to fight against some other popular 7-inch tablets, they've now lowered the price on their NOOK Tablet and Color slates too. Between the Kindle Fire getting a price drop and the holidays quickly approaching the NOOK just got a bit cheaper.

Best Buy has Samsung Galaxy S III on sale for $99 this Sunday only
Are you looking to grab a Samsung Galaxy S III on the cheap? This Sunday, Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile has the Galaxy S III on sale for only $99 bucks. This deal applies to all major US carriers such as At&T and Verizon with the exception of T-Mobile. This deal only applies to customers signing a new contract or those eligible for an upgrade. This means you will have to be willing to sign a new two-year agreement to grab this deal. If you are looking to pick up a device without a contract, you will still be looking at full price. Make sure to check with your carrier for upgrade eligibility before you make the treck down to your local Best Buy. The deal is available on Galaxy S III device in Pebble Blue or Marble White. Unfortunately, AT&T's exclusive Garnett Red is not included in the deal. Either way, it's hard to complain about a missing color when you can pick up one of the hottest Android phones on the market for $100 off the normal price. The lack of T-Mobile support seems rather odd, with T-Mobile just announcing that the device is currently its best selling device. Perhaps it was T-Mobile's choice to sit this one out since they are moving so many units of the device to begin with. Either way, this Sunday, October 14, is the perfect time to grab an S III for a great deal. [timeline] [via Talk Android]
