Samsung quietly launches Galaxy Tab A in Russia

We knew Samsung was working on new Galaxy Tabs but we weren't sure when and where exactly the South Korean giant will introduce the new tablets. Actually, it's kind of challenging to keep track of them because there are too many. Aside from the numerous Galaxy smartphones, there are a lot of tablets to know so we just wait for official announcements from Samsung. If not, we depend on leaks and rumors for some clues. We didn't expect this but Samsung held a press event recently in Russia to launch the new Galaxy Tab A. The new tablet will be available in two sizes: 8-inches and 9.7-inches.

YotaPhone 2 to launch in the US via IndieGoGo [UPDATE]

The YotaPhone 2 is a unique kind of smartphone with its dual display and it made waves when it was first introduced at the 2014 World Mobile Congress. A year later and it still hasn't reached US shores yet, but it looks like all that's going to change as the Russian OEM has said it will be launching in North America through crowd-funding site IndieGoGo. It may be a good move for them to scout out the interest the public has in a different kind of smartphone.

Google receives antitrust probe complaint by Russian competitor

Google is always the target of major antitrust probe and looks like it will face another investigation, this time in Russia, as Yandex asked the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia to look into the search giant's practices. The Russia-based search engine that Google is in violation of some Russian antitrust law. The complaint is focused on Google integrating the search and other services with the Android OS.

If we had written this piece say in 2013, you could be forgiven for thinking that the makers of the YotaPhone had just complete lost all sanity. That is, of course, until the advent of Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge, which had manufacturers thinking out-of-the-box on what they can do with another touchscreen surface. Granted, what the YotaPhone has is completely unexpected and unorthodox – but you can’t say it isn’t worth a look in these modern times.

Russian Galaxy Note Edge launch coming soon

A Russian source has reportedly leaked the launch date of the slick Galaxy Note Edge smartphone in Russia. The coolest feature of the Note Edge is the curved screen that wraps around one side of the device making icons readable without having to be right over the smartphone.
