Arbor Solution rolls out rugged Android tablet at CES 2015

The gates of CES 2015 in Las Vegas have opened. This means it will be one busy week for us. We're excited as to what new products will be unveiled. We've featured early announcements back in December but most of them were only teasers. This week, we'll finally know what these companies have been up to. One of those making early announcements is Arbor Solution with its latest Android tablet called as the Gladius 10.

AT&T outs rugged Sonim smartphone

Sonim Technologies may not be a known brand in the mobile industry (at least, not yet) but it's determined to bring its XP6 LTE Android phone in the US. The handset which is said to be ultra-rugged will be released by AT&T in the country.

Kyocera DuraForce lands on AT&T for some tough love

Continuing its barrage of Android-related announcements, AT&T is outing the first rugged Kyocera device to land on its shelves. The Kyocera DuraForce, like many of its brethren, is gifted with a handful of features that make it usable under the most extreme conditions. Unfortunately, that sometimes also translates to somewhat mid-range specs as well.

Verizon and Motorola have finally unveiled the DROID Turbo and it is everything that we have expected it to be, which is both good and bad. Good, because it matches up to the high expectations set up by leaks and rumors. Bad, because there are no pleasant surprises hiding in corners. Needless to say, the DROID Turbo has shaped up to be quite the Android smartphone, to the point that Verizon customers might be tempted to opt for this instead of Motorola's own flagship, the Moto X.

Logitech Protection Plus for Galaxy S5 gets official

Logitech has rolled out a new smartphone accessory called the Logitech protection [+] case. The device is a protective case for the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone that is ruggedized to survive drops and bumps. Inside the protective case is a rechargeable battery to keep your smartphone running longer.

CAT Phones outs the S50 for the rugged smartphone market

Caterpillar is synonymous to the construction industry – the world of power vehicles, heavy industrial tools, and heavy work boots (which at some point in time most people wanted a pair of). CAT Phones, a subsidiary of Caterpillar, has been outing rugged smartphones over the years, and this year, at the IFA 2014 in Berlin, it has announced a new rugged smartphone – the Cat S50.

Panasonic launches Toughpad rugged Android device at IFA

The IFA 2014 tradeshow in Berlin is not just for stylish devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or the new Sony Xperia Z3Panasonic tries to break the mold by announcing the Toughpad FZ-X1 rugged Android handset (FZ-E1 for the Windows 8.1 model). With a name that sounds more like an artisan tool than a phone, Panasonic seemingly went for all out rugged protection with this new industry-ready device.
