Asus Eee Pad Transformer Rooted

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Rooted
It appears that a mister @PaulOBrien has rooted his brand new Asus Eee Pad Transformer with much success, evoking "all your base" as he announces his accomplishment. This tablet is barely available, having been released on April 10th as an Amazon exclusive in the UK, set to have a wider release on May 1st. So that's impossible, right? There's no way a person would have been able to root a device before he could have physically gotten his hands on it, correct? Maybe its special delivery magic.

LG G2x next in line for CyanogenMod 7? I think so [Pics included]
In case you guys didn't know, the latest and greatest release of CyanogenMod 7 was just released tonight, you can read about that here. It has just reached the "stable" milestone so that basically means it is rock solid. For those that are worried about the AT&T-Mobile merger and what phone to get, or are wondering what Android is right for me. I have a clear choice for you, the LG G2x!

HTC Thunderbolt gets rooted with a click

HTC Thunderbolt gets rooted with a click
The rootability of the HTC Thunderbolt continues to reveal more gems as as XDA Moderator CaptainKrtek, with support from NetForce-TX, has created a one click method which, after testing, is pretty easy to apply. The method is a Windows batch file which runs the user through the complete process and ends with a rooted Thunderbolt ready to play with. CaptainKrtek suggests users still give the thread a good solid read just in case anything goes wrong, but he's confident that, thanks to NetForce-TX's testing, that the batch file is sound and works as advertised.

HTC Thunderbolt Easyroot with S-Off now Available
Earlier in the week we told you about a root method for the newly popular HTC Thunderbolt . The original root method was very long, and pretty difficult. Probably for advanced users only. I know I've seen many reports on twitter that people didn't want to get into all that and were waiting for a 1-Click root, or easyroot. Well today I have that, here is Easyroot.

HTC Thunderbolt Full Root and Bootloader Unlock Instructions
Uh Oh, looks like HTC has failed again. For some odd reason all these manufacturers insist on trying to lock down these devices. I think they should just embrace the custom ROM and hacker community. After all it's extremely popular and has totally helped Android become what it is today. I'm just waiting for CyanogenMod Phone One to be released so we don't have to ever worry about rooting ever again. (Happy Face)

Motorola ATRIX 4G rooted before release

Motorola ATRIX 4G rooted before release
The full system dump was only the start of things; Motorola's ATRIX 4G isn't on shelves yet, but the smartphone has apparently already been rooted. The handiwork of developer DesignGears, the full instructions - like the AT&T smartphone itself - haven't been released yet, but it should come as a relief to those concerned Motorola's policy toward locking down root access on its Android phones. That policy has seen some Motorola devices take longer to be hacked and modified for custom ROMs than Android phones from rivals like HTC, frustrating owners used to being able to tweak their handsets and coax out new functionality. Given that the ATRIX 4G also offers support for the innovative Laptop Dock accessory, and runs a new Tegra 2 processor, the potential for hacking and modding the phone is perhaps even greater. HTC EVO Shift 4G Permaroot by bcnice20 and Pals
The smaller brother of the EVO crew, HTC EVO Shift 4G, has just received its first permaroot. This is thanks to the crew over at XDA Developers Forums, in particular bcnice20 and some dev friends of his or hers (Joeykrim, Toastcfh, scotty2, Guhl, preludedrew, and riggsandroid and Cosine83.) This means that you'll be able to go wild and crazy with your device, hacking it all to pieces and putting it back together again as you see fit.

ShootMe Screenshot App on Android – Root or No Root?

ShootMe Screenshot App on Android – Root or No Root?
We've been really pumped up and excited about having found ShootMe since we first happened upon it in early December 2010. We added it to SlashApps of course, then noting the fact that although the app said that all users attempting to utilize the app would have to be rooted in order to have it work, it worked for all of our non-rooted phones just fine. Now we've got a bit of a dilemma. There's a brand new version that not only takes screenshots, it captures screen video as well, recording your every move in video form. That's not the problem though, the problem is that we've had many conflicting reports in the forums of it either working or NOT working on non-rooted phones.

NOOKcolor Overclocked to 950Mhz STABLE, 1Ghz CHOKIN
Behold the awesome saga of NOOKcolor. When I first set eyes on the ol' NC first, (see those posts here,) I thought she was an OK reader, but she had a lot of potential that was going to waste. Sure enough not 2 days after I sent the NC back through the mail (I was only borrowing it, after all,) we get news that it's been ROOTED. From there, it was a fantasyland of apps, workarounds, ROMs, everything you could want. Except for one thing. Noone had overclocked it, not even a little bit. Well that's changed, and it's changed today.

NOOKcolor can now use Android Market (If you’re Rooted, that is)
Remember back at the tail end of November when those superstars over at XDA rooted the NOOKcolor? Remember how basic it was and all they really had on there was Angry Birds (what else do you need?) Well now there's something even BETTER - complete access to the Android Marketplace! Hooray! Get to downloading!
