Verizon and Rogers don’t use Carrier IQ, Vodafone and O2 “don’t collect info”

The media storm over Carrier IQ's implicit privacy and security violations continues. Yesterday we contacted Verizon Wireless about the intrusive logging software, and a representative told Android Community that the company does not use Carrier IQ software in any of its products. Canadian carrier Rogers joins them today, also stating that Carrier IQ is not present on any of its devices. A company spokesperson confirmed on Twitter that none of the phones or tablets in their lineup use the software.

It appears that everyone that can get on the Galaxy Nexus train is doing so as fast as possible. We've seen plenty of carriers announce plans for the next hero phone from Google and just this morning outlined O2, Bell, and Virgin Mobile all getting the Galaxy Nexus. Now Rogers has tweeted they will be bringing the device to market soon, and reservations or pre-orders start tomorrow. Yup that is November 15th.

The new HTC Raider codenamed the Holiday is all set to finally hit the shelves and reach our pockets, but with Rogers for now. While we are still waiting for a US launch like the leaks for AT&T suggest, Rogers will be getting this new 4.5" 4G LTE smartphone here shortly, possibly as soon as November 1st.

Exciting news coming from Rogers Canada today. They have just said that the EVO 3D will be launching soon and it will in fact have an unlocked bootloader already. You will not have to wait for the HTC update we are all waiting for. HTC recently announced they will be working on unlocking the bootloader for the current HTC Sensation and the EVO 3D and more to follow. It looks like you Canadians wont have to wait for such an update.

Samsung Infuse 4G headed to Rogers and its running 2.3 Gingerbread
The Samsung Infuse 4G was recently released at an event in NYC back in May and we were there for some hands-on. If you don't recall the Infuse 4G is a Galaxy S device featuring a monster 4.5" AMOLED Plus display. So basically the screen not only looks amazing but its also huge. This is the largest screen to have a Samsung Super AMOLED Plus display and it was launched on AT&T with a 1.2 Ghz CPU and Android 2.2 FroYo. New information is showing the Infuse 4G launching on Rogers will a little surprise.

Users of the Acer Liquid E are finally able to get their hands on Android 2.2 with the official software update available now. The phone, which launched equipped with 2.1 on Rogers and Fido in Canada, can now be updated to 2.2 from Acer Canada's website.

Samsung Mobile Canada has now officially announced their plans for Android 2.2 on Canadian Galaxy S Devices on their Facebook page. These devices include the Vibrant, Captivate and Fascinate and we will see an update in December with the Fascinate update coming in 2011.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is available in the US already on T-Mobile and Verizon, and soon AT&T and Sprint, but Canadians aren't so lucky- they haven't even got an official pricing of the famed 7-inch tablet. However, we may be getting a glimpse of what it could be priced at according to a leaked shot of a Rogers pricing chart.
