LG Optimus L7 on its way to Rogers

We saw the entire new LG Optimus L-series at this year's Mobile World Congress, and even had some hands-on time with each of the three. Rogers has confirmed that the Optimus L7 will be part of its 'Smartphone Lite' category. In case you aren't familiar with their Smartphone Lite package, it's tuned for people that use the data features on their phone sparingly. There still isn't any information regarding when it will launch or its price, but at least we know it's coming.

Rogers’ LG Optimus Pad is now free on contract

Free phones, even free smartphones, are nothing new in contract-laden world of wireless providers. But a free tablet? Now that's downright novel. Canadian cellular carrier Rogers just slashed the price down to nuthin, nil and nada for the LG Optimus Pad, the Honeycomb tablet first made available on Rogers in May of last year. If you buy the tablet ouutright it'll still cost you $549.99 CAD, or $499.99/$449.99 for a month-to-month or one-year contract, respectively.

Canadian carrier Fido may get Galaxy Nexus and Moto RAZR on Jan. 10

Canucks already have a few options when it comes to both the Motorola RAZR (the international name for Verizon's DROID RAZR) and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. In a few days, they'll have at least one more. MobileSyrup reports that both phones will be hitting regional carrier Fido next Tuesday. Rogers will also be getting the Galaxy Nexus on the same day, though they've been promoting it for some time. Just one week until either RAZR-thin phones or Ice Cream sandwich comes to Fido's customers - what a decision.

Verizon and Rogers don’t use Carrier IQ, Vodafone and O2 “don’t collect info”

The media storm over Carrier IQ's implicit privacy and security violations continues. Yesterday we contacted Verizon Wireless about the intrusive logging software, and a representative told Android Community that the company does not use Carrier IQ software in any of its products. Canadian carrier Rogers joins them today, also stating that Carrier IQ is not present on any of its devices. A company spokesperson confirmed on Twitter that none of the phones or tablets in their lineup use the software.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus pre-orders from Rogers start tomorrow, Where is Verizon?

It appears that everyone that can get on the Galaxy Nexus train is doing so as fast as possible. We've seen plenty of carriers announce plans for the next hero phone from Google and just this morning outlined O2, Bell, and Virgin Mobile all getting the Galaxy Nexus. Now Rogers has tweeted they will be bringing the device to market soon, and reservations or pre-orders start tomorrow. Yup that is November 15th.

Samsung Galaxy S Glide QWERTY Slider with a dual-core heads to Rogers

I know there is still a huge market for QWERTY slider smartphones these days, and for someone waiting for a powerhouse slider this may be exactly what you've been waiting for. Sadly for now this is only known to be headed to Rogers Canada but it sounds impressive and we have all the details. It may not be named a Galaxy S "II" but don't let that fool you.

HTC EVO 3D Bootloader will be Unlocked At Launch Says Rogers Canada

Exciting news coming from Rogers Canada today. They have just said that the EVO 3D will be launching soon and it will in fact have an unlocked bootloader already. You will not have to wait for the HTC update we are all waiting for. HTC recently announced they will be working on unlocking the bootloader for the current HTC Sensation and the EVO 3D and more to follow. It looks like you Canadians wont have to wait for such an update.
