ClockworkMod Touch available for the ASUS Transformer and Transformer Prime

Koush's ClockworkMod custom recovery is the de facto standard for Android modders out there, and in the last few months a few devices like the Galaxy Nexus have been given beta versions of ClockworkMod Touch. Today that small number of (official) devices extended by two. The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime and the original Transformer are both officially supported as of now - you can download and install ClockworkMod Touch via the ROM Manager app.

Add Beats audio to any Gingerbread ROM [UPDATE]

Jealous of HTC's partnership with the Beats audio company, coming to an HTC One phone near you? If you know your way around a custom recovery, you needn't be. Like Sense UI before it, HTC's proprietary audio technology has made its way to other phones thanks to XDA Developers member fuss123 (never change, guys). He's reverse-engineered the Beats application, which is basically an advanced equalizer, and wrapped it up in a flashable package that works on any ROM based on Android Gingerbread, stock or custom. As if you needed more confirmation that Android modders know how to rock.

ASUS Transformer Prime gets ClockworkMod Recovery

Well folks, that sure was fast. After ASUS released their official bootloader unlock tool only hours ago, the amazing developer community we all love and trust have already released ClockworkMod Recovery for the quad-core powered tablet. It is available now and will require a few ADB commands but for those interested this is good news.

ClockworkMod Recovery Touch expands to more devices

One of the more exciting developments in the Android mod scene in the last week or so has been ClockworkMod Recovery Touch, a new version of Koushik Dutta's ubiquitous custom recovery software. Initially offered earlier this week, the touchscreen enabled pre-boot environment is now available on more Samsung, HTC and Motorola devices. Initially developed for only the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. But a recovery system takes a lot less time to modify than a full ROM, so we're seeing the updated software spread out quickly.

Can’t touch this: Koush’s ClockworkMod Recovery Touch gets a tease

If you've ever installed a custom Android ROM, odds are extremely good that you've used the popular ClockworkMod recovery to do so. The pre-boot environment works well for what it does, but the low-power resources necessitated that users control it with a series of button presses. Now that almost all physical buttons and trackballs have become passe for Android, and even capacative buttons are on their way out thanks to Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich, creator Koushik "Koush" Dutta is working on finally bringing touchscreen controls to ClockworkMod. He teased an early version of the new software on his Google+ account, but did not offer a download.

Galaxy Nexus gets ClockworkMod Recovery with on-screen touch controls

This shouldn't really come as a huge surprise to most folks and I've been wanting something like this for a while now. Being able to control my recovery with the Nexus One ball or myTouch 4G trackpad it was only a matter of time before someone made on-screen touch controls like Ice Cream Sandwich. That is exactly what we have here -- ClockworkMod Recovery Touch Alpha.

DROID RAZR can now be restored to stock via fastboot

It's always nice to know that once you "brick" your device, there is a way to bring it back to life through fastboot. Just yesterday, leaked fastboot files for the Motorola DROID RAZR surfaced over at XDA Developers and DroidRZR.com. Both sources claim that they have successfully flashed the files to their devices, so don't feel like you have to be the guinea pig!

Motorola DROID RAZR gets ClockworkMod, opens doors for fun

Motorola makes some great hardware and we all know that. Sadly almost all of them with the DROID RAZR included are extremely locked down and don't give the end user many options for modding or running custom ROM's. This is nothing new from Motorola and I won't even get into the fact that they claimed to be changing this policy. Either way we now have another victory and ClockworkMod recovery is now available on the RAZR.
