Add another full 1920 x 1080p HD smartphone to the growing list we've reported on over the past 2-3 weeks. Today we're seeing some leaked details of an unannounced and upcoming quad-core powerhouse with a 1080p HD display from the folks at Pantech. The rumored Vega IM-A860 will be joining the LG, Sony, HTC, Samsung and other 1080p phones we've heard about as of late.

It seems everyone is getting into the phablet smartphone game as of late. Add in the new tier of 1080p displays, quad-core processors, and large batteries and what you get is the new Huawei Ascend Mate. We first mentioned this phone back in October, but recently a Huawei exec has indeed confirmed this phone is coming soon. More details and additional specs can be found below.

Samsung's brand new Exynos 5250 dual-core processor powering the Nexus 10 tablet is the only production mobile processor currently based on the Cortex-A15. The chip is extremely fast, powerful, and efficient, and now we're hearing their upcoming quad-core powerhouse will be the same. Samsung's own Kernel Git page has confirmed their upcoming Exynos 5440 quad-core, although we had our suspicions already. A processor we're all hoping will be powering their upcoming Galaxy S4 smartphone.

The somewhat popular Chinese brand Huawei has been making great progress as of late with their Android offerings. The folks from Huawei have been releasing impressive phones with their own in-house quad-core processors, large batteries, and trying to "get it right" according to them. While they still aren't there yet, a new smartphone leaked from a GLBenchmark shows some promise.

Those folks from Meizu are back with a brand new smartphone to take on the competition. Their first phone was pretty impressive and this time around they're aiming for the top spot in China. Just announced is the all new Meizu MX2 complete with pretty impressive specs and hardware all for a good price. This isn't just a Chinese knock-off smartphone either. It has all the makings of a top end device.

Whoa! If you thought quad-core smartphones were already overkill, then next year you'll surely be singing the same tune. The popular Chinese company ZTE apparently has plans to release their own flagship beast of a smartphone called the ZTE Apache. Complete with an impressive Cortex-A15 based 8-core processor.
