Happy New Year 2012: Android Resolutions

Happy New Year from Android Community! I know many are probably still sleeping off the nights party but for those making resolutions, or already made a few last night we thought we'd chime in with a few from the world of Android. Traditionally people resolve to eat less junk food, stop a bad habit, lose some weight, be nicer to people and more -- we have a few Android-based resolutions of our own.

ASUS Transformer Prime Review

Say hello to the next generation of Android tablets -- that would be quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 tablets to be exact. With 2011 dominated by the Tegra 2 we expect 2012 to be similar. Ahead of the pack comes ASUS with the worlds first quad-core slate, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Being similar to many other tablets around can the Prime boost ahead of the pack and make a name for itself, or will it just be another in the flood of Android tablets? With good looks, a fancy radial spun aluminum design and that ultra-powerful processor we think it will hold its own just fine. Read on below for all the details, video, and pictures you can handle.

It's been seen a few times in the wild and even running Android 4.0 ICS but today we have the actual retail product that you'll all be able to purchase soon. When I say soon I mean December 19th. Yup that is the official date, not the 8th. Head on down past the break for plenty of pictures, videos and more information on that release date.

Apparently Gamestop either knows something we don't or they've made a minor (big) mistake because they've just changed their release date information for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet from December 9th to November 28th. Yup, as in next Monday -- I'm getting excited already.

Samsung may be preparing their own quad-core chip for the Galaxy S III

A lot of people don't think of components when Samsung is mentioned, and with tens of millions of phone sales it's not hard to see why. But the Korean company is one of the large electronics parts suppliers in the world - it's big part of why they're so successful. Knowing this, it's no surprise that they aren't resting on their laurels and letting Nvidia's Tegra 3 have all the fun (and press coverage): Samsung is apparently preparing a quad-core processor of their very own.
