T-Mobile goes nationwide with GoSmart Mobile pre-paid service

Coming out of a limited trial in nine markets, T-Mobile has officially launched their GoSmart pre-paid service on a national basis. T-Mobile will have the GoSmart service available at more than 3,000 reseller stores across the country and with prices beginning at $30 per month. For that price, users can expect unlimited talk and text, however those willing and/or able to pay a bit more can grab a plan with some data.

It's been a big couple of days for T-Mobile. Yesterday, the carrier announced that it will stop offering subsidies on new devices next year - something that could end up having a ripple effect throughout the industry if it succeeds - and now it has confirmed to Fierce Wireless that it has a new pre-paid brand called GoSmart Mobile in the testing stages. Provided this test works out well, T-Mobile may look to take GoSmart nationwide in 2013.

If you're the type of customer that likes to follow the prepaid path rather then signing your life away for 2 years the folks from AT&T have just released what they hope will be an "appealing" phone. The new QWERTY slider smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy Appeal was just announced and is headed to their prepaid lineup.

Verizon details new unlimited talk and text prepaid plan for $80

This morning Verizon has announced another new price and offering for the prepaid plan folks. The new plan is 3G only and is a prepaid, contract free, and is offering unlimited talk and text, along with 1GB of data for a low price of just $80 a month. It might not be the best deal around but it's not bad considering data alone starts at $30 for Verizon's regular plans.
