AT&T GoPhone users can now get HSPA+ and LTE speeds

Beginning today, AT&T GoPhone users can now get access to 4G speeds. This includes AT&T's HSPA+ and LTE networks, though it is provided the user has a supported handset. For now AT&T appears to have this aimed at those who already have a capable device and simply want to avoid signing a contract on something new. These new speeds are available at this time and will be available with the $65, $50 or $25 per month plans.

Zact opens for business offering customizable no-contract mobile plans

ItsOn had been tipped to launch a new mobile offering and in that respect, they have done just that. The one catch, while ItsOn has launched today, it did not arrive exactly as was expected. Basically, instead of ItsOn taking advantage of the Verizon Wireless network, they have chosen to use the network of another US based CDMA carrier. Perhaps more important though, ItsOn has launched the service as Zact and it is indeed a no-contract carrier.

AT&T adds to the prepaid options with Aio Wireless

Coming off the recent rumors, AT&T has announced Aio Wireless. This will be a contract-free setup and they will be offering plans that include unlimited talk, text and data. Aio Wireless is a nationwide wireless service and the initial launch will have availability for those in Houston, Orlando and Tampa with more markets promised to arrive "over the next year."

AT&T ‘All In One’ prepaid plans tipped for a June launch

AT&T currently offers wireline services under the "All In One" brand and come this summer, the carrier may begin using that same brand for a new pre-paid wireless offering. The details have yet to be confirmed by AT&T, however it is believed that the All In One pre-paid services will be launching in June. These plans are expected to be priced from $35 per month.

LG Lucid to join the Verizon Wireless pre-paid lineup

The original LG Lucid may have come available more than a year ago. Not to mention the bit out the follow-up LG Lucid 2 having been released just a few short weeks ago, however this Monday morning brings talk of the original Lucid making a comeback. Boost Mobile adding more 4G LTE options with the HTC One SV and Force

Boost Mobile has announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One SV and Boost Force smartphones. The handset are both arriving with support for the 4G LTE network and will be available shortly. Although neither are running Jelly Bean, they both have a decent set of specs otherwise. Not to mention, the pricing seems fair given the specs and the fact these are pre-paid.

Kyocera Event joins the pre-paid Virgin Mobile USA lineup

Virgin Mobile USA has announced their latest Android smartphone. The handset is the Kyocera Event and it joins the pre-paid device lineup with a price point of just $79.99. Of course, given the low contract-free price, one may come to the assumption that the specs are not what could be described as high-end. Truth be told, that would be true, but remember -- the point here is a low handset price and a low monthly price. And to achieve that, you sometimes need a trade-off.
