Verizon begins Android 2.1 update rollout for Motorola Droid
The on again off again saga that is the Droid 2.1 update is on again, hopefully. Engadget has gotten their hands on an internal memo that that outlines the OTA update for the Droid. At noon today, which has come and gone, 1000 Droid users should receive the update and by midnight there should be 9000 more.  And by Thursday, almost all Droid’s should receive the OTA. Judging by how this was handled so far, I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high. The full memo is after the break.

One of the largest Japanese telephone operators AU is teaming up with Sharp to bring two Android MID’s to the market. The two Android devices will be called the JN-DK01 and the IS01. The JN-DK01 is developer’s edition of the Iso1 which can be used to make alterations to the device and the OS.

Foursquare, a location based social networking game, is now available for Android. This game allows users to share their location with their friends. It has been one of the most popular apps for the iPhone and is Gowalla’s main competition. Usually apps ported over from the iPhone are not as good on Android as they were on the iPhone. But this app has a few features that the IPhone doesn’t; the most notable one is Google Maps integration.

The iPad isn’t even out yet and it is facing heavy competition from Android tablets. As far as specs and looks goes there are multiple Android tablets that has equal or far better specs then the iPad and this is one of the best Android tablets in the making.

Thanks to taosoftware co.,ltd there's now a way to install apk’s from an email. Granted, it takes some getting used to and there is multiple steps to follow but it isn’t that hard and it is a welcome addition to any Android device.
