Xperia Neo Hands on with Gareth Beavis

Someone has their hands on a brand new Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo and their name is Gareth Beavis of Tech Radar. This is one of several XPERIA phones coming out in the near future from Sony Ericsson, two more being the XPERIA Arc and XPERIA Play (aka PlayStation phone.) Is a lineup of some giant magnitude like the team they've got coming out soon enough to keep Sony Ericsson in the green with Android fans?

Xperia Play Commercial Leaked by Norwegian Android Site – TERRIFYING

Behold one extremely weird commercial for the upcoming "Playstation Phone" aka Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play. There've been several sightings of this device, and indeed even a couple of hands-on experiences out there, but this appears to be the first real live official ad spot. This commercial features a man running through some back alleys on a mission to deliver a scissors to an underground surgeon who then uses the scissors to cut some wrappings off of an ewok-sized Android.

PlayStation Phone Close Up Hands-On Preview [Video]

It appears that none other than our pals over at Engadget have gotten their hands on an official Xperia Play, aka the Playstation Phone. Take a very close look at the hardware, the software, the camera, and the smoothness of the overall experience. It looks fab, it looks great, and it looks like it's going to be quite an amazing package.

Sony Ericsson Sends Invite to Barcelona Event, Touts Xperia Releases

The friendly folks at Sony Ericsson have just sent out invites to publishers, inviting them to join them for an event of some magnitude in Barcelona on the 13th of February. Who would travel such a distance?! We would, we'll be there for Mobile World Congress, covering this and many more events LIVE for you here on Android Community. PlayStation Phone XPERIA Play Due at MWC, PSP 2 on January 27

Heck, they're both basically the same thing, right? Nah. It'd be interesting to compare the two directly though, especially since we basically now KNOW that both the Sony machine and the Android-based XPERIA Play are going to be released within weeks of eachother. Bloomberg reports with sources confirming the release schedule, and Bloomberg is usually right. Furthermore, both devices will be working on a more networked media and entertainment sort of system that's yet to be revealed by Sony.

New details on PlayStation app for Android surface

We mentioned a few weeks back that an official PlayStation app was coming to Android devices (and to the iPhone). The app sounded cool, but it isn’t intended to allow players to actually play any games. The point of the app is to keep you updated with the online status of your pals and to give you information on all the games on the PlayStation platform among other things.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play to be PlayStation gaming phone?

Sony Ericsson's PlayStation phone could well launch as the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play, if a new batch of freshly-registered domains are anything to go by. XperiaX10Blog found Swedish PR agency - of whom Sony Ericsson is a client - Jung Relations has snapped up multiple "xperiaplay" domains, including the .com, .org, .co.uk and .net. Right now there are only holding pages to be found, but we're guessing that will all change by the time the gaming smartphone is officially announced. That's expected to happen at MWC 2011 this coming February, though the actual launch is yet to be pinned down: recent sources tipped a March launch, while a new report from Pocket-lint suggests it's more likely to be April 2010, in the UK at least.

Official PlayStation App Coming to Android (and iOS)

PlayStation's official blog has announced today that they'll be releasing an official PlayStation application for both Android handsets (with a minimum of Android 1.6) and iOS with version 4 and above.) In this first version of the app you'll be able to check out for PlayStation Network trophies, keep up with your friends games and online statuses, browse the whole PlayStation 3, PSP, and PlayStation 2 catalog and news, read all sorts of announcements from the European PlayStation Blog, and share products and news bits you find interesting with friends through Facebook, Twitter, and email.

PlayStation Buttons Found in 2.3 SDK

We now know that one of the focuses of Android 2.3 Gingerbread is, in fact, improved gaming. Whether it be smoother graphics performance or support for additional dedicated gaming buttons (hello, PlayStation Phone), Gingerbread will allow us to game better than ever on a mobile device. Now as people have been tearing apart the SDK they have seem to have found support for PlayStation buttons.

Playstation Phone Previewed in Two Clear Videos: Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Gameless

Hooray look at that! Some dude on the other side of the world has a Playstation phone (otherwise known as Zeus Z1), and he (or I suppose it could be a she) put up two videos of it working. Here you'll see quite a few fine features like the slick new Android 2.3 Gingerbread interface, the super sensually smooth sliding of the back panel becoming game controls, and the big S in square in the center of the controller. Pay close attention to the moment the screen turns to the Android version, I know that even though you knew what it'll say, you'll still be excited to see it.
