Google’s core Android app updates climb to 16

This could only be coincidence, however it appears as if Google is doing some prep work for the upcoming announcement and launch of Android 4.4 Kit Kat. Specifically, some public facing prep work. Reddit user JLishere has noticed that Google has been updating apps. Actually, updating quite a few of the core apps.

Google Play Store 4.4 rollout brings slide-out navigation

We got a bit of look at the updated Google Play Store release earlier in the week. This one was arriving as v4.4, specifically, v4.4.21. At the time the apk had been leaked for those who were comfortably with sideloading. As of today however, there appears to be a good news for those who had a bit more patience -- the update has begun rolling out.

Nexus 5 leak tips October 31 Play Store availability

Coming in addition to the recent chatter about Android 4.4 Kit Kat arriving on October 25, it looks like the Nexus 5 may be arriving in the Play Store at the end of October. We have yet to see the mass of press invites go out to the media, however it is starting to look like Kit Kat and the Nexus 5 are still going to arrive in October as had been rumored. And interestingly enough, it is looking like they are both going to arrive on different days.
