IFTTT launches for Android

There had been a recent IFTTT sighting for Android, though at the time that was limited to a private beta group. But there is a bit of good news this morning; IFTTT has officially launched for Android. The app is available for free and can be found in the Google Play Store.

Google’s Nest thermostat listed briefly in Play Store

Google’s Play Store briefly listed the Nest thermostat today, quickly pulling it down before anyone had the chance to order. In the wake of Google’s Nest purchase, many expected the device to be sold via Google’s online portal. Did Google just jump the gun, or are they gun shy?  

Virus Shield buyers getting refund and promotional credit from Google

As we recently learned, not all virus scanning apps are created equal. In this case we're talking about the Virus Shield app, which wasn't actually scanning anything. The app had been selling for $3.99 and while it was removed from the Play Store on April 6th, reports from Appbrain show it had been downloaded more than 30,000 times.

Google Camera app arrives in the Play Store

Google has released another app in the Play Store this morning. This latest is Google Camera, which is available for devices running Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The setup appears identical to what you would find on a Nexus or Google Play edition device and brings features to include Photo Spheres.

Nexus 10 status change lists device as “coming soon”

Since introduction, the Nexus 10 has been one of the better tablets on offer. Top to bottom, it’s one of the better tablets around, and sales proved as much. Even with a fairly steep $499 price tag, the Nexus 10 sold well, and has been listed at various stages of “unavailable” for quite some time. That’s changes, as the device is now listed as “coming soon”.

Cast Store is the easiest way to find apps for your Chromecast

With the Chromecast SDK being released last month, a wealth of Chromecast apps will likely be to our devices in short order. Though many find thier way to Chromecast apps by simply searching the Play Store for “Chromecast Apps”, one Developer had the bright idea to create a standalone app store for Chromecast apps. The Cast Store app could be the best way to find Chromecast apps if the Play Store isn’t giving you the results you want.

JuiceSSH app celebrates reaching the 500,000 user milestone

The JuiceSSH app has been touted as being the "best free SSH client" available in the Google Play Store. But while the developer has made a commitment to provide a solid free offering, they do have a paid version available. In this case we are referring to JuiceSSH Pro, which brings some extra features.
