After an excruciatingly long series of rumors and leaks, the day has finally come and the Nexus 5 has officially landed. But while the smartphone touts specs that, by now, sound a wee bit common among high-end Android smartphones, one piece of its hardware, its camera, deserves a special mention.

Samsung Galaxy NX camera spotted at FCC

With a bevy of new smartphones as well as some new DSLR cameras announced or launched since June, it is easy to forget about Samsung's own Galaxy NX camera. However, this Android-powered camera was just seen at the FCC, which leaves it just a few days more before its promised October launch.

LG talks optical image stabilization in latest G2 video

LG has posted the latest promo video for the G2 smartphone and this time around the talk deals with the camera. Specifically, dealing with one feature that makes the LG G2 camera stand apart from other Android handsets. That feature is optical image stabilization (OIS) and LG has opted to show how this works using a chicken.

Google has been steadily improving the image experience for Google+ users over time. These changes have come in the form of features called Auto Awesome and have touched on the desktop and mobile sides. As of today however, it looks like Google has some good news for those shooting in RAW -- improved RAW to JPEG conversions.

Ex-Googler launches NOVA, a wireless flash for smartphone photography

One of the biggest problems with photography on our smartphones is low light situations and using the flash. Mainly because it sits right next to the shutter and usually washes out colors and ruins any decent shot. Even Apple's new iPhone 5s tried to combat this with two different flash colors to try and improve the situation. Today though we have a different approach from an Ex-Googler looking to provide a wireless off-camera flash for our smartphones.
