The Pebble smartwatch has a decent amount of functionality straight out of the box, however there are more than a handful of apps available by way of the Play Store to expand upon that. We have taken a look at some of these in the past. One app was Canvas for Pebble which allows users to create dynamic watchfaces. Today though, we are looking at an app called Pebble Locker. And as the name implies, this deals with locks. In this case, the lockscreen of your phone.

Pebble smartwatch arriving with AT&T this weekend

The Pebble smartwatch had a rather successful run on Kickstarter. Those watches then arrived for direct sales from Pebble and with big box retailer Best Buy. And moving forward, it looks like the Pebble will soon be available with AT&T. In fact, AT&T has announced they will be the "exclusive carrier" for the Pebble. The watch will be available beginning this weekend.

Pebble smartwatch owners can choose between thousands of watchface apps to personalize their experience a bit. They can also build completely custom watchfaces if they wanted. And while both of those options are nice to have, it looks like an app called Canvas for Pebble will give users an experience that falls somewhere in the middle. Basically, this app allows you to design custom watchfaces using nothing more than a smartphone or tablet.

Pebble touts 275k in sales, finally begins offering spare charging cables

The folks at Pebble have come forward with another update and this time around they kicked things off with some talk of numbers. Specifically, it was said the total including Kickstarter now accounts for 275,000 Pebble smartwatches. Taking the Kickstarter group out of that total and that leaves 190,000 pre-orders. And to throw in an even larger number, Pebble users have downloaded more than 1 million watch apps.

Pebble for Android v1.9.1 update brings welcomed fix

The folks at Pebble have recently rolled-out another update for Android users. This latest has arrived as version 1.9.1 and it appears to have been a fix for the previous (v1.9.0) update that arrived a short time back. Pebble for Android v1.9.1 addresses issues that deal with the app looking to guide you through the setup screen multiple times.

Pebble Ringer app launches for Android, we go hands-on

Pebble rolled-out an updated SDK earlier in the month. Specifically, that update was for the Pebble Kit which added support for two-way app communication. Or more to the point, this update will allow developers to create apps that run on your Pebble and control your smartphone, which we have just gotten a look at with a newly launched app. That app is called Pebble Phone Ringer Switcher and it is available for Android users.

Pebble smartwatch pre-orders will begin shipping “soon”

It looks like the folks at Pebble are getting ready to move into the next phase. Basically, the Kickstarter shipments are beginning to wrap up and shipments for those who placed a pre-order (after the Kickstarter project) should begin going out soon. In fact, a recent update on the Get Pebble site mentions that the first Pebble pre-orders will be "shipping soon." With that in mind, those who pre-ordered through the Get Pebble website may want to pay attention to their email.

Pebble SDK update adds two-way communication app support

Those using the Pebble smartwatch with RunKeeper received a decent update last week. As of today however, it looks like the folks at Pebble have some additional SDK related news. The announcement is for the PebbleKit, which is being described as the "next stage of the platform." Basically, this release will allow for two-way communication between your smartphone and the Pebble.
