A new update from PayPal will help you have easier access to the online payment system, especially if you use it frequently during the day and if you're secure enough that only you have access to your smartphone or tablet. If you have a higher end Samsung device, you will now be able to use your fingerprint scanner to open your PayPal app and account.

Google expands PayPal support for Play Store

This is clearly good news for all of us here who rely on the Google Play Store so much for apps, entertainment, productivity and such – Google has expanded its list of countries where it accepts payments via PayPal. We have been aching for PayPal support for the longest time, and in May this year, it seems that the gods of Google finally heard our cries.

Samsung looking at payment process through smartwatches

South Korean gadget giant Samsung is reportedly looking at how they can incorporate simple payment functions to the next wearable devices – smartwatches, more specifically. The target is the Mobile World Congress slated for early in 2015, where by that time, Samsung is expected to launch a payments-enabled smartwatch.

Google has updated payment options in the Play Store today, and it seems to be a bit of a concession on their part. The biggest change is that we’ll now see PayPal as an option when making purchases from Google Play. Aimed at the international market, it suggest Google wants Play to scale quickly.

Square once again denies buyout is imminent

Citing people “familiar with the matter”, the Wall Street Journal reports that Square is entertaining offers from Google and Apple. PayPal now supporting prepaid gift cards

PayPal has added support for prepaid gift cards. With no coincidence in timing, the folks at PayPal have added this "just in time for the holidays." Basically, this means PayPal users will be able to spend any prepaid gift cards through PayPal Checkout. And while this will also benefit PayPal, it should be helpful for those who have struggled trying to use a prepaid gift card online in the past.
