ASUS Padfone 2 getting updated to Jelly Bean

ASUS and their impressive smartphone and tablet hybrid we all know as the Padfone 2 is getting a taste of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean today. After being announced in October and finally hitting a select few markets in November we're happy to report the update is available now. Earlier this month the update initially started, but today it's rolling out on a larger scale.

ASUS has been pretty busy as of late updating all of their tablets to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and today they've started the rollout for one more slate. White ASUS Padfone 2 makes first appearance in new pictures

A lot of us are excited for the ASUS Padfone 2, but sadly we're still stuck waiting for it to launch in certain regions. Today we're seeing some brand new pictures that don't make the wait any easier, with VR-Zone snapping some images of the white Padfone 2. We knew that ASUS was planning to launch a white version alongside the black Padfone 2, but today is the first time we're actually seeing this white version rather than just hearing about it.

This time around they've really improved the design, specs, durability and every other facet of the device to deliver a more polished product. ASUS PadFone 2 announced for December release in Europe and Asia

ASUS is getting ready to roll out the sequel to its tablet-in-phone, aptly named the PadFone 2. ASUS originally announced it for a Taiwanese release, but later said it was coming to most of Asia and Europe. The PadFone 2 will feature a much better designed phone holder in the tablet that is designed to keep the phone held in place, even during violent shaking and movements. After all, no one wants the phone to fall out while going GANGNAM STYLE.

Today the folks at Bloomberg were lucky enough to get what appears to be the first video and hands-on with the new ASUS Padfone 2 smartphone and tablet convertible. The device hasn't leaked yet much, but the official announcement is set for October 16th. Today however we're seeing this newer device with a 4.7-inch display, 13 megapixel camera, and the new design for docking right into the tablet.

Just yesterday we were told that ASUS would be launching the PadFone 2 on October 16. However, we still weren't given any solid details about the product itself, but thanks to a leak, we're given access to the full specs of the PadFone 2. And we have to say, they look pretty good.

Just a few days ago we heard about a new Padfone through a leak with benchmarks and all. Today, we saw this enticing invitation to join ASUS as they launch the Padfone 2 in Italy and Taiwan on October 16. Hopefully this time they'll send it off to the US for us Americans to enjoy.
