OUYA game jam results in 166 prototypes in 10 days

OUYA will be launching shortly, and one of the biggest challenges the Android console faces in 2013 is support. The idea is great, but if developers don't support it, the console may not take off. OUYA, along with Kill Screen, hosted a game jam event called CREATE a few weeks back, inviting developers to make all sorts of game prototypes over the course of 10 days. At the end of it all, the OUYA team had 166 prototypes on their hands.

Android Community Nightly: December 28th, 2012

Another day is on the books, and despite the fact that Fridays are normally slow as far as news goes, this one was pretty eventful. For starters, we found out that the Samsung Galaxy S IV might be more similar to the Galaxy Note than its predecessors, and it might even be coming as early as April. Developer SDKs for OUYA became available today, along with an unboxing and uncasing video from the company behind the little Android console that turned into a Kickstarter darling. Apple has agreed to drop the Galaxy S III Mini from its patent suit, while Samsung may need to pay a $15 billion fine for trying to get Apple products banned in Europe.

OUYA Developer kits shipping today, could arrive tomorrow

The highly anticipated open-source game console OUYA developer kits are shipping sooner than expected, and today we've learned some lucky developers could be receiving theirs as soon as tomorrow. According to our good pals at SlashGear instead of the developer consoles shipping tomorrow, they've already sent many out and they'll be arriving all weekend long.

OUYA dev consoles arrive on December 28

It's been a while since we heard from our old friends at OUYA. Ever since the Kickstarter campaign for the Android gaming console came to an end, things have been pretty silent on the OUYA front. That all changed today, with the OUYA team delivering a major announcement: OUYA dev consoles will be shipping out on December 28, which just so happens to be one month from now.
