Motorola updates ICS timetable – international RAZR in Q2

Motorola has become something of a whipping boy when it comes to Android updates, though not undeservedly so. When they revealed a release schedule for Ice Cream Sandwich that put most current models at a post-summer release, owners were less than thrilled. Moto has updated its outlook, but unless you have the international Motorola RAZR (not Verizon's DROID RAZR) things still aren't looking that great. As a developer device, the XOOM tablet's WiFi version already has Ice Cream Sandwich, but everyone else is waiting for an OTA update - and they'll be doing so for quite a while.

Psych: Samsung says Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich update was an error

So, international readers, how excited are you for the Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade that Samsung Korea posted yesterday? Get used to disappointment: Samsung has updated their statement, saying that the March 10th date was in error and offering no news on when the real update might come. The company said that when the update software is finalized, they'll let customers know their plans for sending out the Android 4.0 upgrade over the air. You'll have to find something else to do with your Saturday.

Motorola DROID 2 Global update rolling out now

The Motorola DROID 2 hasn't been completely forgotten about, although it is starting to show its age. The DROID 2 Global is getting an update that was first detailed a few weeks ago but is finally rolling out to handsets starting today. If you're a proud D2 owner you'll want to check for updates on that slider of yours.

ASUS says they’ll be first to “Android 5.0 Jelly Bean”

As the updates to Android come out some manufacturers are fast to adopt the latest and greatest, while others tend to take way too long -- especially on phones. ASUS is one of those on the "fast" list and have prided themselves on being the fastest to update their devices. Just like the original Transformer was the first to update to new versions of Honeycomb, the Prime was the first to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now ASUS has mentioned Android 5.0 and Jelly Bean, and we sure are excited.

ASUS Transformer Prime 3rd update this month rolling out, hopefully fixes reboots

ASUS has been pretty busy it seems, because they have just pushed out another over the air update for the Transformer Prime tablet. This is actually the third OTA update for the Prime this month alone here in the US. I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever give us a change log. After the last update seemed to cause more problems than it fixed, we are hoping for something different with this latest update to build 9.4.2.15 so we'll see.
