Archos announced that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich would be landing for their G9 series tablets in the very near future. Now a few months later it has finally arrived and starting today the Archos G9 series such as the G9 80 and 101 are getting the update to Android 4.0 ICS bringing the usual changes and improvements with the latest from Google.
Transformer was the first to update to new versions of Honeycomb, the Prime was the first to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now ASUS has mentioned Android 5.0 and Jelly Bean, and we sure are excited.
Transformer Prime tablet. This is actually the third OTA update for the Prime this month alone here in the US. I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever give us a change log. After the last update seemed to cause more problems than it fixed, we are hoping for something different with this latest update to build 220.127.116.11 so we'll see.
Ice Cream Sandwich for the original ASUS Transformer tablet has been a little rocky thus far. It was even delayed a few times but today ASUS brought us good news. This morning we reported the update for the OG Transformer was starting over in Taiwan but the official @ASUS twitter page just confirmed it will begin rolling out in the US starting tomorrow.
Ice Cream Sandwich is all the rage right now and we are slowly learning the update paths and plans for all the popular devices. Toshiba has been pretty quite as of late but this week they finally gave us a little more details although nothing concrete. Confirming that Android 4.0 ICS for the Thrive wont be here for a while. Possibly as late as the end of June.
Galaxy S II Skyrocket because users are getting an over the air update as we speak. Now for the bad news. This same update seems to be failing for most users that have tried to install it -- rooted or stock.
DROID X for those concerned. Apparently they launched a beta "soak test" software update late last week for a few forum members to test out. Today it is finally official as Verizon is giving us all the update details. Currently listed as coming soon we expect the DROID X update to land this week, more details and change log available below.
Transformer Prime quad-core tablet. The software is pushing out now to devices and users should be receiving it as we speak. It is extremely small and brings us to build 18.104.22.168. Once again this update is aiming to fix the random reboot issue some are having.

Archos line of tablets the latest edition G9 series are about to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We saw an early preview build back in December from Archos and were told to expect an update to the Archos 101 G9 and 80 G9 early 2012 -- as soon as the first week of February. While the update hasn't started rolling out yet a few online retailers are currently taking pre-orders for the Archos G9 with ICS.
