Cincinnati Bell Blaze Has Been Rooted!!

The Cincinnati Bell Blaze has been rooted by AC’s own SeanFromIT. This is a great accomplishment given the fact that he had little to no help in the project. The Blaze is a regional carrier Android device and up until now it had almost no support by the dev community. Now that it’s rooted, custom ROM’s and recover images should follow. If you have Commtiva Z71, Vibo A688 or Orange Boston, these same instructions should work for your handset. Instructions on how to root your phone is after the break.

Black HTC Desire comes to Orange UK, sells out

This has been a trend for HTC as of late. They have sold out of everything from Vodafone’s Nexus One, the HD2 and a few times with the desire. What’s going on with HTC, maybe they didn’t think their phones would be this popular? Orange has recently made the black HTC desire and it sold out almost as soon as it was available.

Black HTC Desire due by end of next week say Orange

Holding out for the black version of the HTC Desire?  Initially promised for the end of April by Orange UK, a combination of volcanic ash and firmware issues have seen the Android 2.1 smartphone delayed.  Now, Android Community tipster Chris has let us know that the black Desire is expected to arrive early next week. That's come straight from Orange UK customer services, who told Chris that the limited edition Desire was expected to arrive in their warehouses sometime in the first week of May.  Actual shipments out to customers should take place from "middle to late next week". Orange's product page is here - it still says simply "coming soon - and the specifications for the handset are the same as the regular model we reviewed back in March.  The phone will be priced from free on new contracts. [Thanks Chris!]

Orange “Boston” Android phone revealed

There have been rumors floating around that certain European carriers are working on their own Android handsets. Vodafone was rumored to be working on their own phone, looks like Orange has beaten them to the punch. The Boston will be released first and for the low price of 1 euro.

Is Orange Fr. The European Version Of AT&T?

We're all aware of AT&T's recent Android releases with certain Google apps removed or replaced. These are the most restricted Android devices on the market today. Orange may be following suit with their upcoming Android devices. Google Maps, Youtube, Gmail, Gtalk and possibly Search too will all be removed in their devices.

Orange launches its all-white Sony Ericsson X10

It does exist!! The all white version of the X10 has been listed on Orange’s order page. This is my personal favorite off all the X10’s including the Mini’s. If this would’ve come out sooner, I would’ve been the first in line to get it.

HTC Desire: Black Edition Headed to Orange UK

A few weeks back we uncovered the existence of the highly anticipated HTC Desire in an all black color scheme. Before then this phone was only seen in gray and even white. Now it has been confirmed via twitter, by Conor Maples who happens to be the PR man at Orange, that it will be available in April.

Leaked 2.1 Update For The Hero

A member of the xda-developers forum called yrreP claims to have received an email at work that outlines the schedule of the Android 2.1 update to the HTC Hero/T-Mobile G2. Most readers of this article seem to believe that it is true.

Free Desire For Orange Customers?

Earlier today I discussed the possibility of this phone being on multiple carriers around the world. T-Mobile UK is slated for a March 26th release. Not to be out done Orange has announced their plans for the Desire that includes a free offering for certain plans. I'll let the announcement speak for itself:

MWC 2010: Ericsson has the eStore

This is a very interesting move by Ericsson. They just announced a partnership with Opera to bring the eStore, this is a new way to buy apps other than the traditional Android Market or that other phones AppStore. This store will aim to take the way we buy apps to a different plateau.
