Nook Reading App 4.0 now on Android devices

While the Nook tablet may have appealed to a certain kind of mobile user, not everyone was a fan of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, so it did not reach that wide of a market. But if you really preferred Barnes & Nobles' e-book reader over all others like Kindle, Kobo, Aldiko, etc, then this will be good news for you. The ebook retailer is releasing a new version of the Nook app so you can read content you bought from them on your Android device of choice.

Barnes & Noble and Samsung release new Nook tablet

If you like co-branded tablets and ebook reading gadgets, then you have another great news from Samsung and Barnes & Noble. Just a few months after they released the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 Nook, they're now selling a bigger version of it: the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook 10.1. But along with it, they also announced that the new tablet comes with a new Nook software and that this will also be pushed on the 7-inch gadgets as well.

G Assets makes offer for Barnes & Noble or Nook, wants 51% stake

Barnes & Noble, the lone remaining major brick-and-mortar bookseller, has received an acquisition offer. The potential buyer, G Asset Management, is proposing a 51% stake in either Barnes & Noble proper, or their Nook division. The offers add an interesting wrinkle to an already opaque future for the bookseller and its digital spinoff.

New Barnes & Noble tablet shows up in benchmarking, has Tegra 4 chipset

Barnes & Noble’s newest Nook has shown up in benchmark testing, this time sporting a Tegra 4 chipset. The tablet, which has yet to be launched despite continued rumors it would be throughout the year, has taken another step closer to reality. Though Barnes & Noble haven’t officially announced the device, benchmark results at least tell us this one is real, and probably coming soon.
