Nexus 5 leak tips October 31 Play Store availability

Coming in addition to the recent chatter about Android 4.4 Kit Kat arriving on October 25, it looks like the Nexus 5 may be arriving in the Play Store at the end of October. We have yet to see the mass of press invites go out to the media, however it is starting to look like Kit Kat and the Nexus 5 are still going to arrive in October as had been rumored. And interestingly enough, it is looking like they are both going to arrive on different days.

Google confirms October 24 “night out” Google Play event

It looks like Google has begun sending out some invitations. The event is set to take place next week, on October 24th and in New York City. The catch is, while we are hoping to see the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 Kit Kat -- this event appears focused on Google Play. In fact, the announcement mentions a "night out with Google Play" with further talk of music, movies, games and a special performance.

Nexus 5 images arrive out of Russia

Earlier today we saw a Nexus 5 sighting in France. That one included some images and a 7 minute video showing off Android 4.4 Kit Kat. And as a follow-up to that, it looks like another series of Nexus 5 images have surfaced. This time coming out of Russia. With no announcement or release date having come from Google just yet, it does appear as if a European launch is in the works.

Nexus 5 spotted in Bluetooth SIG filing

Still no official word from Google on when we can expect the Nexus 5 to arrive, however it looks like things are progressing as expected. We have already seen the handset appear in an FCC filing and more recently, it looks like the Nexus 5 has made an appearance with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). The filing shows the model listed as being the LG-D821 and as we often see here, there wasn't much revealed in terms of specifics.

OPPO phone to use DigitalOptics MEMS camera, not Nexus 5

Reports earlier in the month suggested the Nexus 5 would arrive with a MEMS camera and Lytro-like features. That report was later debunked and things settled in with details about how the Nexus 5 would have a Sony IMX179 sensor. Specifically, an 8 megapixel camera. But just in case there was any doubt left, the folks at DigitalOptics Corporation have shared some news this morning.
