Android 4.4 code reveals updated apps, OIS for the camera, more

If you’ve been keeping watch, you know that the crew at Myce.com have the Android 4.4 files in-hand, and are working hard to extract some hints and features we may see. This time around, it sounds like we’ll get USB OTG functionality, as well as updated Google apps. There is also evidence that the way things are updated may see a slight twist, with Google changing a bit of the code language.

Nexus 7 taken in-car for music, navigation and telephone calls

There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to using an Android tablet in a car. For many it seems a popular choice is the Nexus 7 and in fact we have been seeing these types of setups since the tablet was originally announced back in the summer of 2012. Some of the initial points to consider will likely be whether this tablet will be mounted in-dash or on a dock and how the power and stereo connections will be made.

The wait for Android 4.4 Key Lime Pie has many of us going crazy. So much in fact that Google changed the name of the next version of Android to KitKat, and launched a full fledged KitKat campaign with chocolate galore. While we're all waiting for an announcement from Google, a few eagle-eyed fans at AndroidPolice stumbled on some new Google Keyboard screenshots (from Google themselves) in the Play Store potentially showing us Android 4.4 KitKat.

Nexus 7 LTE now shipping with AT&T SIM option

Earlier today there was a bit of an uproar in terms of Verizon Wireless support for the Nexus 7 LTE. While the tablet is technically capable of supporting the network, it seems Big Red is not willing and/or able to activate it in their system. It seem there will likely be more on the topic of Verizon, however things appear solid for those who are planning to pick up an LTE capable Nexus 7 for use with AT&T.

Nexus 7 LTE factory images and binaries posted

Similar to what we have seen with other Nexus devices, Google has recently released the factory images and binaries for the Nexus 7 LTE tablet. These files are all available by way of the Google Developers pages and are listed as being for the "razorg" Nexus 7 2013 Mobile. The files are listed as being Android 4.3 and with build number JLS36C.
