Android 2.2 Froyo on May 19th?

Is Android 2.2 just around the metaphorical corner?  The next update for Google's mobile platform is currently being tested by the company, reckon Android and Me, who have been digging through their visitor stats and finding records of devices running v2.2.  They've also heard from additional sources that the new build is, indeed, being trialled prior to public release.

Google Maps Navigation arrives in UK

Up until now, despite having a fair few Android 1.6 or 2.x devices to choose from, UK owners didn't have (legitimate) access to Google's Maps Navigation beta, with its free turn-by-turn directions.  That's all changed today, with an unannounced overnight update delivering the 4.1.1 Beta (that hit US Android phones back on April 6th) to UK handsets.

There are 38,000 Apps in The Android Market

This is a great accomplishment for Android. The market is growing faster than most of us anticipated. This was revealed during this afternoon's Q1 earnings press conference, Jeff Huber who is  Google's senior VP of engineering. Also, Google views the Nexus One as a “profitable business” even though most analyst feel it didn’t sell enough units overall.

More Leaked Accessories: HTC EVO 4G

This time the leaked accessories are for the highly anticipated HTC EVO 4G. This device isn’t even out and there are some great looking surprises in store for potential buyers. The only thing missing from the list is carrying cases and pricing.

Red myTouch Slide

The red myTouch slide picture has just been leaked. This device is indeed the rumored Espresso from T-Mobile that will sport none other than HTC’s Sense UI. Just a few days ago this device made its rounds over at the FCC and now we get a better look at the handset.

Incredible April 29th Release Confirmed

April 29th will be a big day for all you Verizon wireless customers. The HTC Incredible has been confirmed for a Best Buy release on that date. A lot of you have been waiting for a Verizon compatible Nexus One and this may as close as you can get to the Nexus.

I/O Attendees Receiving A Free Droid Or Nexus One Before The Conference

It's almost that time, this May Google is holding its annual I/O conference. Thousands of developers will learn of latest web and Google technologies. The Google ION was the surprise gift at last years conference, the attendees was not aware of this before they got there. This time around Google is sending the free gift ahead of time. Droid's and Nexus One's will be shipped out to everyone who pay in advance to attend.
