Android 4.2.2 update now arriving on Nexus devices

We had seen a few reports of Android 4.2.2 back in January, and even word a few days back suggesting the update was coming this month. Well, it now appears as if Google has begun rolling out v4.2.2 to the masses. And by masses, we mean those with a Nexus branded device. So far we have seen reports of users getting the update on the Nexus 7 and 10 tablets as well as the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus smartphones.

Nexus devices seem to be having Wi-Fi issues on Android 4.2

Issue 40065, a seemingly simple sounding number, however for the more than 450 people that have starred the issue -- it apparently means poor Wi-Fi connectivity on their Nexus device. Or more specifically, on a Nexus device running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This of course could include the Nexus 4 smartphone as well as the Nexus 7 and 10 tablets. The interesting part here, this thread was originally created back on November 20, 2012.

Many are speculating that Google and ASUS will be unveiling and announcing a new Nexus 7 tablet at this years Google I/O event in May. Last year they debuted the exciting $199 Nexus 7 with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and this year we're hearing a next-gen Nexus 7 is coming with an upgraded 1080p HD display, and along with it will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.

Google I/O will be coming up in a few months and it looks like the announcement rumors have already begun. These latest touch on a new Nexus 7 tablet. Currently dubbed a second-generation model and assuming these rumors prove accurate -- Google is said to be working on the new Nexus 7 tablet with Asus.

While Google's Nexus 4 is still missing in action on the Google Play Store, the Nexus 7 has appeared back in stock only this time with T-Mobile along for the ride. Previously Google was only selling their Nexus 7 + Mobile with an AT&T sim card, but today they've added T-Mobile to their list. This means you'll be able to enjoy those T-Mobile HSPA+ 42 network speeds while on the go with your tablet.

Nexus 7 dock now shipping to those in the US

We had seen plenty of expected shipping dates for the Nexus 7 dock, however as of today -- it has begun shipping. This applies to those in the US, however it looks like the dock is only shipping with one retailer at the moment. Those looking to make a purchase will want to head to the ExcaliberPC.com website where the dock is priced at $39.99.

AT&T giving $100 discounts towards Nexus 7 purchases on a two-year agreement

A special offer has recently shown up on the Nexus 7 WiFi + Mobile Data product listing in the Google Play Store. The offer is available for just a limited time, and does mean a discount for those who purchase the HSPA+ capable version of the Nexus 7. Well, for those who purchase the tablet and also agree to sign a two-year commitment with AT&T.

Nexus 7 docks shipping January 10th according to retailer

We've all been longing for some official accessories or docks for our Nexus 7 tablets, and it looks like the wait will just be a few more days. Late last month we reported the official ASUS Nexus 7 dock should be available later in the month but that never happened. Online retailers such as B&H Video are still accepting pre-orders though.
