Nexus 5 teardown reveals plastic clips, little glue and standard screws

The Nexus 5 has been the center of attention lately. Thankfully, we are on the side of official chatter as opposed to the rumors and as such, the folks at iFixit have recently shared their Nexus 5 teardown. This time around we are seeing a 15-step process that ultimately resulted in a repairability score of 8 out of 10. Perhaps more important, this teardown also confirmed some earlier rumors.

In the Nexus 5 you'll find Google's biggest effort yet in their unique "pure" take on Android, both physically and metaphorically. You've got LG-made hardware here with a display that's the most massive Google has issued for a Nexus smartphone, appearing at 4.95-inches of LCD with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. That's 445 PPI, and beaten only by the HTC One's sharpness of 469 PPI due to it's smaller display at 4.7-inches with the same amount of pixels.

Many look towards the Nexus devices for the clean Android experience. And given that, there is often less reason for users to be looking towards third party ROMs. But that being said, some may still prefer to have their Nexus device rooted. There are a variety of options, one of which is for backing up. Regardless of your personal reason for rooting though, there is some good news in that CF-Root has been released for the Nexus 5.
