Nexus 4 factory images removed from Google servers

Google has suddenly removed the stock firmware images for the Nexus 4 from its website. All of its other devices such as the Nexus 7 still have the images available, so there clearly must be a reason Google has decided to pull down the images for only the Nexus 4. Until Google issues an official statement, all we can do is speculate, but there are certainly some reasons out there that seem logical.

The phone, which ships with some solid specs and can be purchased unlocked for an excellent price, has proven to be pretty popular with the Android faithful, which means that many are facing long shipping times or sold out alerts. It turns out that isn't the only thing Google is having stock issues with, as the official Nexus 4 bumper is now listed as sold out on the Google Play Store.

Nexus 4 gets first nightly CyanogenMod 10.1 build

If you're using CyanogenMod and you've been lucky enough to get your hands on a Nexus 4, then you're in for a treat. The CyanogenMod team announced on Google Plus that they're rolling out the first Nexus 4 (mako) nightly build for CyanogenMod 10.1, which is based on Android 4.2. The team is doing this because they've seen Nexus users installing third party CyanogenMod 10.1 builds, so they thought they'd take advantage of the demand they've been seeing and begin releasing nightlies.

Google: Nexus 4 is not sold out, Play Store is just seeing overwhelming demand
