Ubuntu developer preview release date set for February 21
We had already been told that Ubuntu for smartphones was going to be arriving in October with a developer preview set for release in late February. And well, it looks like we now have a specific date to mark on our calendar. That date is February 21, and in a bit of extra news, there will now be two supported devices.

Google makes it easier to find a Nexus 4 or 7
Google has rolled out a new tool that may come in handy for those searching for a Nexus 4 smartphone or Nexus 7 tablet. The key here though, while this new tool will make things a bit easier, it doesn't offer the most important part. More on that in a second though. Google has added Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 locator pages and as the page reads, it will help you "find a Nexus 4 near you."

Android 4.2.2 now available for Nexus 4
It was only yesterday that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update became available for a variety of Nexus devices. The GSM Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi), and Nexus 10 were all able to be updated to the latest version. However, Google's latest smartphone, the Nexus 4, was left out of the loop, disappointing a lot of users. Now those of you with a Nexus 4 can rejoice because the Android 4.2.2 OTA has just become available for you.

LG Nexus 4 Heads To Virgin Mobile In Canada
The Nexus 4 has been making its way to a variety of Canadian carriers, and it looks like Virgin Mobile Canada is next in line to receive the device. The smartphone has already made its way to Videotron, WIND Mobile, and Fido. Virgin Mobile Canada didn't release an official date on when they'll sell the device, but they do have a sign-up page if you want to be notified once the Nexus 4 is released.

Android 4.2.2 update now arriving on Nexus devices
We had seen a few reports of Android 4.2.2 back in January, and even word a few days back suggesting the update was coming this month. Well, it now appears as if Google has begun rolling out v4.2.2 to the masses. And by masses, we mean those with a Nexus branded device. So far we have seen reports of users getting the update on the Nexus 7 and 10 tablets as well as the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus smartphones.

Nexus 4 Wireless Charging orb lands in the Google Play Store
We had been expecting the Nexus 4 wireless charging orb to launch in February. We had even seen it listed with a few retailers showing a $59.99 price point. And well, it looks like the charging orb is now available for sale. The price is the same as we had seen and the availability is direct from the Google Play Store.

Nexus devices seem to be having Wi-Fi issues on Android 4.2
Issue 40065, a seemingly simple sounding number, however for the more than 450 people that have starred the issue -- it apparently means poor Wi-Fi connectivity on their Nexus device. Or more specifically, on a Nexus device running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This of course could include the Nexus 4 smartphone as well as the Nexus 7 and 10 tablets. The interesting part here, this thread was originally created back on November 20, 2012.

T-Mobile Nexus 4 price drops to $49.99 for a limited time
In most cases we would suggest grabbing the Nexus 4 direct from the Google Play Store and avoiding the contract, however we realize that cost is often an issue and that being the case -- it is hard to argue with a $50 purchase price. Granted, that is $50 along with a two-year commitment, however that somehow seems much nicer as compared to the regular T-Mobile purchase price of $200. Basically, for a limited time, T-Mobile has the Nexus 4 selling at a deep discount.

LG Nexus 4 shipments have reportedly topped 1 million
The Nexus 4 appears to have reached the big milestone -- 1 million in terms of device shipments. The catch here though, this latest figure is based off of what we have seen in the past. If you remember back to early January, we saw reports about the Nexus 4 as having reached the 375,000 mark. While playing with serial numbers can be fun and interesting in a geeky way, we do have to remind everyone that the 375k number was later discussed by an LG executive.
