Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Rolling to more cities coming September 15th

While Verizon just got done flipping the switch and adding 15 more cities to 4G LTE on the 18th of August, it appears they aren't looking to slow down any time soon. Today they've already announced another slew of cities that will be getting the same upgrade and improvements. Verizon has been steadily updating their LTE network since it launched and it continues to grow at a very fast pace. At this rate AT&T will be very behind come October or November like we've been hearing rumors on regarding the launch.

Verizon 4G LTE Hitting 15 More Cities Tomorrow While Expanding in others

Verizon Wireless has been rolling out their latest 4G LTE networks faster than most of us imagined they would. Basically their 4G offering is putting the rest to shame, while AT&T is barely even getting started. We last heard of around 25 new cities getting updated back in July and now only a few weeks later they are adding 15 more cities to the 4G spectrum while upgrading and expanding the reach in many others.

AT&T Launching 4G LTE Devices Next Week, Just Not Phones

You'd be correct if you were wondering if AT&T had launched their 4G LTE network yet and thought to yourself, no they haven't. That is because so far they've only been testing a few small areas and networks but nothing official has been launched. Next week AT&T will be launching their first 4G LTE devices and don't get too excited because they aren't smartphones or tablets, but we will however be seeing a 4G LTE mobile hotspot and a USB Modem coming on August 21st.

AT&T Confirms no LTE Smartphones until late 2011

I wouldn't really call this a huge surprise considering we still haven't heard much from AT&T regarding their 4G LTE networks, and they are just barely starting to get off the ground. Today at a tech conference AT&T's senior vice president of mobility and consumer markets, Peter Ritcher, said that the company will not have a 4G LTE enabled smartphone until very late into 2011.

Verizon Wireless 4G Phones Wont Be Compatible with AT&T 4G LTE

I debated even running this story for a while this morning but my love for Verizon 4G LTE speeds made me give in. According to a Verizon spokeswoman the 4G LTE network over on Big Red will NOT be compatible with other LTE networks. So Verizon phones will not work on AT&T's soon to launch 4G LTE network, or vice-versa. This doesn't really come as a surprise at all. I mean did anyone expect Verizon or AT&T to share? I sure didn't.

T-Mobile Launching 4G in 56 Additional Markets

Tonight T-Mobile has just announced that they are once again updating additional markets and expanding the HSPA+ 42Mbps network to 56 new markets. Now many of you will too be able to access the blazing fast speeds of 4G that T-Mobile has to offer. Back in June they had a similar announcement and upgraded tons of markets to 4G, now that list is getting bigger and bigger.

Sprint Text Message Network Down, Subscribers Head to Cricket

Are we having issues sending text messages from our Sprint powered phone this afternoon? Don't worry because you are not alone, apparently the network is currently down and Sprint is working diligently to get it back up and running. We have received plenty of complaints regarding this issue and if you head to @SprintCare they have the same problem and are getting loads of complaints.

US Army developing Android network

A number of things that consumers take for granted today were derived from things that the military needed or wanted. One very common example is GPS that we all take for granted today. The military is now taking that develop things, then turn them to civilian use, and reversing the whole trend with a new Android powered network that it is working on. The US Army is hard at work on an Android-based smartphone framework for tactical operations.
