Verizon 4G LTE hits 11 new cities today, available to over 200 million people

Who wants some 4G LTE to go along with the Galaxy Nexus? In the same fashion as they've done all year Verizon has flipped the switch and gave the green light to 11 new cities to access their 4G LTE spectrum starting today. Verizon's 4G LTE recently celebrated its 1 year birthday and in that short amount of time they've reached almost 200 markets and offer 4G LTE to over 200 million Americans nationwide.

Verizon 4G LTE keeps rolling, more markets announced for December 15th

It's no surprise that Verizon is pushing full steam ahead with their 4G LTE network, they've been updating with 10-15 new markets and locations almost every few weeks for months on end. Late last month they flipped the big red switch on 22 new markets and another list will be activated on November 17th, today they've just announced another round of upgrades coming in mid December.

Verizon 4G LTE rollout ahead of schedule, already reaching 185 million customers

When Verizon announced their new 4G LTE network they had a few goals set in terms of the rollout, and how many customers would be able to take advantage of the new network. Today Verizon has announced that the original goal of 185 million customers has already been reached and that they are ahead of schedule, not to mention that they've also already reached their goal for the amount of markets that actually have 4G LTE.

Verizon expands “C.O.W.” making 4G LTE network portable

Verizon Wireless today has proudly announced that they soon will be driving around cows. Actually today they delivered the company’s first 4G LTE C.O.W. (Cell On Wheels) in Florida to bring the joy of reinforced high-speed wireless capabilities to its customers. What we have here is a new system kicking off in Florida where major sporting or media events, tourist destinations, and other heavily populated areas will get extra support to the 4G LTE network when needed. This is a great system for natural disasters and hurricanes when most service eventually goes down.

Google goes MVNO in Spain with SIM cards for workers [Update]

Google has announced that it is in operation in Spain as a MVNO or mobile virtual network operator. Google bought up a bunch of bulk network capacity from existing carriers and then handed the SIMs out to employees for testing. That testing was down with the Nexus S handset and apparently each of the cards accesses one of three various carriers including Orange, Movistar, and Vodafone.

Verizon 4G LTE keeps getting stronger, 21 new markets coming in October

We've said AT&T has their work cut out for them regarding 4G LTE a few times and this is just one more confirmation that it's true. Verizon is showing zero signs of slowing down their impressive roll-out of 4G LTE. They have been steadily adding 15-25 new markets every month or so since their LTE networks first launched and they seem to be continuing the extremely fast pace of integration.

AT&T 4G LTE Network in the wild September 18th

We've heard plenty about AT&T's 4G LTE market and seen plenty of leaked phones for it too, now it seems they are finally making it official and will be launching their 4G LTE next-gen wireless network starting September 18th. They've already launched their first 4G LTE tablet the HTC Jetstream so whoever bought it might finally have 4G coverage soon, although only in a few markets at first.
